I primarily use Braille for several reasons.

First and foremost I don't want to attract alot of attention to myself

given the expense of this equipment.

Secondly, most of the places I travel are high traffic areas which make it

difficult to hear the BrailleNote's speech output unless it is set at one

of the higher volume levels. I also prefer to use speech because of the

way the BrailleNote rests against my waist. Since its speaker is not close

to ear level, that also makes it a little more difficult to hear the

BrailleNote's speech output.

Left ear - Nucleus 24 Contour Advance with Freedom BTE

Implanted: 12/22/04 Activated: 1/18/05

Right ear - Nucleus Freedom

Implanted: 2/1/06 Activated: 3/1/06
