Hi . If they were defective and there is a connection between your injuries and the defect, it might be worth getting the report. First, since this has sat around for a bit, make a few calls to a lawyer or two in your state asap and find out what your state's statute of limitations is for a product liablity case, and maybe even a medical malpractice action. (I am not licensed in your state and cannot give you legal advice, sorry I cannot be of more assistance!) Be sure to ask the lawyer if there is a "statute of repose" in your state which bars claims after a certain period of time regardless of when the defect is discovered- some states have these, some states have held these absolute bars unconstitutional).

This would at least let you know where you stand.
