In class actions, the court decides what law will be applied, so it is hard to say. You should find out what your statute of limitations (sol) is for whatever cause of action you are considering, ie. med mal, product liablity. To my knowledge, a class action does not revive a time barred claim. A lawyer in your state can tell you specifically as these vary from state to state.
