Hey there,

My name is . I went to the school three years ago. It was an

amazing experience. It was great seeing other hockey players who are

like me. However, I can't say much about the area because I stayed in

the hotel and went to the rink most of the time. I was 21 that time and

I was on a full scholarship so I had free hotel food...

But I tagged along with a couple of families that invited me to a water

park. I don't remember the name. I ate at Buffalo Wild Wing in the

area. That all I could remember.

You and you son will have a blast there, I guarantee you.

Best of luck at the hockey school! :)

Hi ,

Thank you for writing to me. It's great to talk with someone who has

been to the school .Do you still play hockey? I was wondering about

the days there, are you at the rink all day everyday or are there

outings to sites around Chicago or free time to allow for this on

your own? You mentioned you went to a water park while there . How

did you get around ? they say you dont need to rent a car, do they

provide transportation to places away from the rink or is there public

transportation nearby (that is safe !!). Are there stores and

restaurants close by ? within walking or close traveling distance?

Did you come from another state to the school or do you live close by.

Did you feel that you learned some good tips to help you play hockey?

Do you have a coclear implant,or hearing aid? Did you or do you wear

them while playing hockey ? Do you sign? My son has a C.I. and signs

some too. Are there many people attending the school who sign? I know

quite a few signs but am not fluent or real fast since my son can

hear fairly well with his C.I., he signs pretty good since signs more

at school-program for deaf/HOH class room.

Well, better hit the sack since it's soo late now !!!

Thank you again for your help, we are so excited !!

Hey, how is the weather there in June? shorts or pants or a little of

both??

Have a great day!!

Hi Wendi,

Just a note to thank you for the information you gave me, it has been

very helpful . I have already purchased our airline tickets but did

not include a rental car , maybee I better check into that asap !!

I want to get into Chicago from Downers Grove to see the museums etc..

I thought there was public transport to town from the area!

Thanks again,

Hi Kitty,

Thank you for all your info. I used to live in Los Angeles so Iam

used to some crazy traffic !!! ,But I dont know if I want to deal

with it while on Vacation !! I think I might rent a car for the week,

but if its possible ,we could take the train to down town Chicago,

that way we wont have to deal with parking ,etc., on the days we want

to go to the aquarium and museums. Do you have suggestions for the

best places to take a 10 yr.old boy in Chicago ??

Thanks again,

I'm glad I joined these groups, everyone has been so helpfull !!

Wednesday P.

Hope you'r having a great weekend !
