Guest guest
Evon, My insurance (now secondary) refunds the amount of the cost of Medicare. They did this automatically and wrote me about it when I became elligible. Maybe this is an oversight on the part of your (now) secondary medical insurance. Perhaps you should call or write them and ask. Happy Hearing! Carol Boca Raton, FL N24C 3G left ear -12/11/01 N Freedom- right ear- implanted 3/01/06 activated 4/6/06 Re: [sPAM] why? I agree with you Carol. I too realized early on how important medical insurance is and continued working at a job that I paid a group fee for that medical insurance and carried it over with me into retirement. I STILL pay for the medical insurance. The point is that the insurance and retirement factors of the job are what made me stay with the job until retirement. So many people feel they shouldn't have to work at a job they don't enjoy or well, let's face it - feel that they shouldn't have to work on a daily basis at all - yet receive as many (or more) benefits as those of us who have work and pay for our benefits. The luxury of not earning my benefits and expecting others to be responsible for my needs never entered my mind. I paid my way and feel honorable that I did so. Sometimes, one feels that it seems many are just there with hands out for help in whatever way they can get - which of course makes those of us who pay for our benefits to have to pay higher fees. After all, insurance companies themselves must compensate themselves somehow for funds paid out to those who don't pay in....so, we again get shafted. Still, I wouldn't trade my " earned " status with any one of those people who just expect others to help when they need it. Something I really don't quite " get " is when a person becomes eligible for Medicare and starts paying that as well as their medical insurance premium, why does the medical insurance (now Secondary) remain the same monthly amount? Somehow that just doesn't ring fair does it? Ahhhh, that " fair " word creeped in. Life isn't like that and don't we know it? Guest guest
Carol and others, I only have Medicare but may look into getting supplemental coverage. What I am curious about is, how or who determines which is primary and which is secondary. And if its an option, what is the best way to go? Also, how does one find out if a potential supplemental plan will cover a 2nd CI? *---* *---* *---* *---* *---* It's nice to be important but it's more important to be nice... & Dreamer Doll ke7nwn Newport, Oregon N24C 3G 8/2000 Hookup rclark0276@... http://webpages.charter.net/dog_guide/
