Guest guest
I believes is still on Cloud 9. I can just see at her job, typing away on her steno machine, then slowly she started to float upward toward the ceiling. Everyone in the court room look at still in sitting position, typing away on empty air, going, going, going toward the ceiling. Finally realized something is amiss. looks around wondering why everyone is quiet. She immediately understood why... everyone jaws had dropped to the floor, the judge's right hand under his chin, his left hand his tapping on his desk and his eyes had an eagle dagger look at her. , now alert what had happened, suddenly whoosh downward to her chair breaking it into million pieces. quickly got up, straightened her dress, swept the broken pieces aside with her foot, quickly walks to the prosecutor and asks if she could borrow the empty chair beside him. He was too shocked to say anything so quickly grab the chair, went back to her steno machine, put the chair down, sat down, looks up sweetly at the judge and look right back to him with her eagle eyes that much to say " Well, let get back to work your Honour " and her fingers were eagerly posing to type. Dolly Dolphin Hi Wendi, I had both ears implanted at the same time last August. The surgery was almost 7 hours long, and I stayed overnight in the hospital. The first few days after surgery were tough for me because I was throwing up from taking the antibiotics, but once I told the doctor this, she prescribed me some sort of suppository med that helped immensely. I pretty much stayed in bed resting for about five to six days and didn't do much at all. I was activated three weeks later and it was phenomenal. It's been eight months since activation for me and I am still amazed at how well I can hear. I've been a court reporter for over 20 years (the person in court who takes down the testimony on their steno machine) and lost my hearing VERY suddenly due to AIED. I had perfect hearing one day, and two months later was completely deaf. Well, just to give you an idea of how well these CI's are working, I'm BACK to work as a court reporter! I swear, it's a miracle, as I NEVER in a million years thought I'd be able to go back to court reporting. And I'm so glad I decided to get the two implants at the same time. This was a great decision for me. My insurance (Blue Cross Blue Shied of MA) paid for my surgery completely, except for a $250 deductible. I'm actually not sure about the upgrade issue you're asking about, but will be interested to hear what others have to say about this. I hadn't thought about this factor before, but probably should have. Oh, and I went with AB and couldn't be happier. I'm telling you, this is as close to normal hearing as I could have gotten, and I never realized that CI's were capable of restoring hearing to this point. I honestly thought that I MIGHT get SOME sort of sound back after surgery, but this is just incredible. For me to be able to go back to work as a court reporter speaks volumes as to how well these things work! Good luck, Wendi, and if I can answer any other questions for you, let me know.
