Hi,

I was wondering how many of you have tried the new Web CapTel. I tried it

tonight, just testing it with my husband and I think it's great! There's been

so much progress for those with hearing loss in the last few years. I thought

Cap-Tel was great on it's own but this is awesome!

I have used it twice and it's a godsend! I love it as it doesn't require a

landline phone so you can use your cell phone.

Every one talking about these CapTel well I got mine thru the state. They

have a special program here in KY as do a lot of other states. Maybe you can

try and get your's from the states. Patsy

I am going to find out about the webcaptel. Sounds great to me.

Hi,

I just tried the web captel the other day. My regular captel phone is worn out

and there are lines running thorugh the display. I think the webcaptel is

awesome and plus I found it to be a great money saver in the long run since I'm

not able to afford a new captel phone. Having web captel sure does beat having

IP relay in my opinion.

Hopefully this fall, I'm going to try again for a CI. I hope to go through the

process again and see how it all goes. Hopefully, what ever insurance coverage I

get before then will cover the costs of getting implanted. I'll more then likely

get the Freedom than Med-El's Opus/Sonata package. I think having a freedom

would be better for me in the long run. I plan on visiting WFU for my second CI

evaulation this fall rather than returning to UNC-CH. The biggest reason I

didn't like going to UNC-CH is having to deal with the insane traffic on

I-40/I-85. (Especially when one goes through Burlington and where I-40 splits

off from I-85. WFU is closer to here than UNC, although UNC has a great implant

team there. That's all for my CI update though. I hope everyone has a great

week!

,

Could you get the CapTel phone through your phone company. In California,

you can get the paperwork from your audiologist that will allow for a free

(loaner) device. I have a CapTel phone and a headset on loan to me from the

phone company.

That can happen and a new account never goes live. I have run into that

and usually have just started over and made another new account. Its just

one more pothole in the road that needs fixing. Persistence can pay off.
