Guest guest
Just a tip on the oatmeal--it may not have alot of fiber, especially if you are buying the instant kind, but you can certainly buy organic oat bran and add it to your cereal to increase its fiber content. That is what I do, and in fact, I pester my mom and dad all the time to make sure they add a couple teaspoons of oat bran to their instant oatmeal too...my dad is diabetic and has to keep a close watch on his blood sugar levels. Adding the bran does a great job of keeping his blood sugar level. I also add a couple teaspoons of ground flax seed for those essential fatty acids. Prunes are also great for fiber, and are high in potassium. I know the oatmeal isn't as high as something like raisin bran, but when I eat the oatmeal I'm not starving an hour later like with regular cereal. I'll get the colace too, I forgot about that stuff. It helped a lot when I was pregnant. Pam
