Guest guest
Iggy, girl, you are just like me. We sit there quietly while the doctor talks down to us and treats us like we're either really stupid or we're faking it. WHY DO WE DO THAT? I get real bold on here when I'm typing and I say " I would walk in there and demand blah blah blah... " but most of the time when it comes down to it I don't. I try to passively ask nicely like I'm ashamed or something. I wish we could somehow go with each other to these appts, ya know? Then if we didn't have the nerve to say what we think, the person with us would. I tend to be more bold when I'm defending someone else - much more than for myself. It's weird, but that's how I am. I just made an appt with a new rheummy in Richmond, VA an hour south of where I live. There are only 3 in the area where I live. The one that dumped me, her husband, and a doctor down the hall from them! None of them participate with BC/BS (believe it or not). I found one that participates but other than that I know nothing about him. It stinks that we can't know ahead of time what kind of doctor they are. We are spending our money - we are paying them, right? I need to get fired up right before my appt so that I will say what I need to and not back down if he ends up being a jerk. I'm praying for you now...it's 5:00 eastern - I don't remember what time zone you're in. By the way, what dose of oxycontin are you on? Is it helping? Do you have to take any immediate release pain meds during the day? Pam --- In , " iggyangel7 " <Iggys_girl@m...> wrote: > HI Pam, Im sorry to hear you still have pain. Guest guest
I agree about the fungal thing - I asked the ENT and he stated that he did not find any mold but I am sure he didn't do a culture to see for sure. I have been on antibiotics for 7 months straight now and am getting immune to them all i think. Oh well - as our stories go... thanks for the support love shari
Guest guest
-pam I feel badly that you are feeling so much worse. I hope that will turn around soon. Can you identify where the pain is coming from? Is it widespread? Is it muscular? Different types of pain may have different management techniques. Can you feel me in a little on the pain issues and perhaps I can think of something non prescription that may be of some help too. Do you have fms? Other diagnosed conditions? Again, lately I am really impressed with the studies that Garden of Life has done on their products. FYI seems to help with pain, as well as RM-10. Also immune modulators like sterols. Someone on another group recommended New Roots sterol supplement. She felt it worked much better than moducare. Also I have heard that massive doses of vitamin C help and it works for me. Also trigger point therapy. but again, I don't know what type of pain you have. Can you be more specific. Thanks and I will keep you in my prayers kathy -- In , " Pam " <nannapam37@y...> wrote: > Iggy, I went to my family doctor today because the pain has gotten so > much worse and so has my sleep. Guest guest
-Dear Shari Are you doing any detoxing or taking any supplements. It sounds like your immune system is really weak right now. I would recommend taking some immune support such as colostrum. Also D'lenolate would be good for getting sinus problems under control. People with systemic candida have huge sinus problems. Oil of oregano might be good too. It sounds like you need this type of support plus extra nutrients in your diet. Garden of Life ( I am starting to sound like I own stock in them) has a great new product called Living Multi. It tries to cover all the bases for nutrition plus immune support. It is all organic and based on whole foods. It sounds like a superior product. Better yet, Jordin Rubin, the owner is undergoing controlled studies on this product. He is willing to take the risk and put his money where his mouth is. I have ordered the living multi and will let this group know how I like it. I also use their Perfect Food and it is fantastic. I am probably going to get their FYI and RM 10 too, but I herx so much I want to start out slow. Good luck with your problems. You are in my prayers kathy -- In , halvey70@a... wrote: > Hi thre - shari here. It has been a while since I have been on line as I have had a ton of health issues lately - 2 sinus surgeries since 11/18 and another infection going to boot. I just can't shake this crap and of course the docs are pretty useless - as an example - I was at the ER 3 times in two weeks in Nov w/ a massive sinus infection that had me in bed - they tried 3 consecutive IV antibiotic treatments that didn't kill it. I went to an ENT who freaked when he looked at me and immediately scheduled surgery within 3 days. i was so infected he had to go back three weeks later and finish the surgery as well as fix my septum (aka-he had to break my nose). I was in soooo much pain throughout all this mess and he gave me percocets for three weeks to keep it under control. I had my last follow up last thurs w/ him to remove my nose splints and he said that my insurance had written him a letter along w/ a copy of all of the rx's I had filled in the last month w/ his highlighted wanting to know why he was giving them to me and making him send an explanation in letter form. I understand if they were just verifying that they were legit but making him explain himself after they have already received the bills for two operations (one 11/18 and the other 12/10). It REALLY pissed me off. They are under such pressure from the insurance people, we are all suffering because they are scared of getting in trouble for giving out meds. managed care really bites - sorry but I am so tired of suffering and being in constant pain. I have another raging sinus infection which has prompted a major fibromyalgia flare up and there is nothing I can do but bear it.and I am sure he will not give me any more meds because of the insurance even though it would be legit. it just isn't fair. > anyways - now that I am done venting - I have an appt w/ a pain mgt doc coming up in a few weeks and I was wondering what you guys think works best for you. In the past I have been on Vicodin ES's but they are not very helpful and I was wondering if anyone could recommend what was best for the fibro and constant pain. thanks for letting me vent! > > love shari
Guest guest
I haven't tried anything yet but I know I need to. What would you suggest for starters? I don't want to get too crazy as I still have to work and I have a 2 1/2 year old at home to take care of but I want to get better. I couldn't take anything that would put me down for several days as I have already missed so much work with my three operations in 2003 (explant, sinus, sinus)that I am afraid I will lose my job soon. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks for your prayers - I will need them along with all of us others... love shari
