Guest guest
That's good I have not tried the new bricks yet. Sometimes it is had to tell with the old brick when to change. patsy **************Start the year off right. Guest guest
There is a dot on the bricks and when it changes color it is time to replace it. It says replacy when dot is pale pink. I find that I need to replace them more often in the summer (humidity) than in the winter. In the winter I go 4-5 months. Summer is almost monthly. Each night when I put my processor to bed, I think that I must write and ask that individual: How do you judge that it (brick) no longer works? I try to remember to write a date on one when I place in into the Dry N' Store....but, something you said made me think that it was an obvious observation that your brick was no longer functioning. If so, what is that indication to alert you that it is no longer preforming as needed? I'm certain I use a brick much longer than I should but, the appearance doesn't change, machine continues to work as always...so, what ???? am I missing? (I know...a few bricks) lol Thanks. Guest guest
The older bricks had a colored dot on the plastic wrap that would turn very pale when the brick was no longer useful. Â Here in NYC, I would get about a month from each brick during the summer but one brick would last me an entire winter. Â Now the new brick styles have this little red line that moves from one end to the other and it is very clear when the brick is no longer useful. Guest guest
My audi said it depended on humidity. During winter it will last 3 months, but during summer it will only last one. > When the blue dot on the top of the brick turns white it is time to > replace > it. Guest guest
I live in the humid south, and the blue dot turns white within a week or so of changing the brick. I just write the date on the brick and change it about every other month. Guest guest
The blue dot turns white in a week, but you are still able to use the brick for two months successfully, Lynn? Guest guest
Ted, I have no way of knowing whether the brick is actually working well. I just leave it in there for about two months. It just wouldn't be practical to change the brick every week or two. I haven't had any moisture problems with my processor, and it does get a bit wet when I work out at the gym. Guest guest
Thats why I was asking, Lynn. We probably have a similar climate to yours and going by the problems I have just had with my processor, I was wondering whether there might have been a steady build-up of moisture that was left inside my processor, after the overnight stint in the Dry & Store. I'm sure the Dry & Store people are working on something that lasts longer than these bricks do, in harsh climates like ours. I've got a couple of those round tins too, do you know what colour the crystals are supposed to be in those, when they are right to use? I might start using those because I can alternate them. Guest guest
Ted, I don't have the round tin. I only use the dry bricks that are made for the Dry & Store. Actually, I'm not using the Dry & Store that came with my CI. I already had a Dry & Store Professional model that I had purchased with my hearing aids a little over a year before getting my CI. I put the newer one up as a spare and sometimes take it on trips if I'm going to be gone for a week or more.
