Guest guest
It is all about the speed at which the processor runs whilst forming the input to send to your implant. On Cochlear brand devices the strategies are called " ACE(RE) " (high speed), " ACE " (slower speed), and " SPEAK " which mentions, an older slow strategy. The slower speed maps are less power hungry. Here in the UK, you receive a printout of your maps after every session. Received wisdom had taught that the greater information input of high speed maps gave a better result to those who can handle them (some cannot). I am now told that lower speed mapping is back in favour, and was given a map to try, on which the jury is still out.. Hope this helps. > > > > I get great life from the rechargeables on the N5, and great life from > > the disposables on the Freedom. Why? Because I use and prefer a real > > slow mapping strategy. Guest guest
Thanks, . It does clarify it. After you have tried the lower speed for a while, do let us know the differences you observe. Even though it would apply only to you the comparison would be interesting.
