Guest guest
Ted, Great source of fun words. And indeed many have quite different means from the same word used as slang here in the US. See the great things we learn here? Thanks, Some common Australian slang terms: > > http://www.koalanet.com.au/australian-slang.html
Guest guest
Fun words indeed, thats the way a lot of people over here speak :-) As I was born an Englishman it surprised me that what we used to call bracers, to hold up ones trousers, were call suspenders in the US. Now in the UK, suspenders are the item of lingerie that used to and probably still does, hold up ladies stockings/nylons :-) Durex in the UK is the leading brand of condoms and Durex in the US is sticky tape. Wouldnt want to get them two mixed up, ouch :-) Yes , this place is mine of information. I got those fancy scales yesterday and apart from me weighing 2 pounds more on them, the C.I. has no effect on them. Havent tried the fancy stuff yet though, body fat, water etc. I was rather hoping they would make me weigh LESS :-) Ted F. > > Ted, > Great source of fun words.
