Who Received Their CI in the Year 2000

When in 2000 did you receive your CI and when was it activated? Which implant

did you have and with which speech processor did you start? If you upgraded, to

which processors each time and what was the improvement of each upgrade compared

to each of your previous upgrades? What speech processor do you currently use?

My daugther was implanted in December 2000. She was fitted with the Sprint

24, was upgraded to the 3G and wears the New Freedom now. When she was

upgraded to the New Freedom, was the first time that she could hear the rain

falling on the roof. Obviously not a thunderstorm. She could hear the dogs

difference in barking outside, and could tell me which dog did bark. Whe

were in our bedroom lying on the bed and trying to find out what was

different with this processor. Amazing experience to us both!
