you’ve done the right thing

and I’m sorry to disagree with your husband but I don’t believe you’re

overreacting. It’s saved me once when I was unconscious and that

was enough for me. Who knows, you may never ‘need’ it but, it’s

always there in case you do.

Perhaps if you could give your husband

some facts and figures on deaths caused by asthma or even get him to talk to

your doctor?

Asthma isn’t to be taken lightly.

Here’s a link that gives some

interesting figures: http://www.who.int/mediacentre/factsheets/fs206/en/

“Between 100 and 150 million people around

the globe -- roughly the

equivalent of the population of the Russian Federation -- suffer from

asthma and this number is rising. World-wide, deaths from this condition have

reached over 180,000 annually.”

Subject: Medic Alert

Well, I just

signed up for Medic Alert last night. My husband thinks I am

overreacting. He said that Medic Alert was only for people with

life-threatening allergies or illnesses and nothing that is wrong with me falls

into that category. Maybe he is right, but it is peace of mind for me,

and who knows if I were to accidentally get aspirin that it may not become

life-threatening? My last reaction to aspirin that made me realize I was

allergic to it was not fun… he also doesn’t seem to think my

asthma is a big deal. Sure, it has never put me in the hospital but that

doesn’t mean it is fun or that it isn’t a serious issue.

Anyway, the most interesting thing was that Samter’s Triad was actually

listed as a medical condition! You essentially search for your condition

and pick it from a list, most likely so their information is standardized.

I typed in Samters and it came up! I thought that was cool.

Where is the best place to get a cute medic alert bracelet for a 14 month old?

Thanks
