What do you call the external stuff?

What do you call the external pieces, individually and as a set?

For me, " cochlear implant " would be the part that's actually implanted in

my head, although I can see referring to the complete set of internal and

external bits as a cochlear implant.

But when I want to refer to just the external, non-implanted parts, what

do I call those?
