Guest guest
Hi Theresea, The reason for top posting is because we have several deafblind members, and it's hard for them to find the question if you post the previous response part first. Not a big problem, just the way this forum runs. You are in excellent hands at U Mich with their implant program. I'll post more about them later. Your testing for the implant is done at the facility by the mall. It is not part of the research protocol. It is totally different from the research testing. Tests to determine candidacy concentrate on how much you do or don't hear, if your auditory nerve is intact and so forth. They don't accept you as a candidate for research until you've been activated for a year. I've participated for several years. First with one implant, and now as a bilateral. Good luck with your journey back to hearing, Sorry about top posting, this was my first time. I hope I did it right this time. , Did you go to the main hospital or the cochlear center by the mall? I am currently close to being a candidate and I go to the one by the mall for testing. Thanks, Teresea ____________________________________________________________ Groupon.com Official Site 1 huge daily deal on the best stuff to do in your city.
