This is bilateral hearing research under the direction of Ruth Litovsky at the UW-Waisman Center. I have been asked to circulate this notice and to encourage people to participate in this worthwhile study. Warmly, Carol in WI **************************************************************************** ****************************** Do you wear one or two Nucleus Cochlear Implants? Help us learn more about: -How the brain processes auditory information -How you understand speech in noisy environments -How you are able to localize sounds in multi-source environments Adults with unilateral as well as bilateral Nucleus cochlear implants are invited to take part in our studies. The following criteria need to be met: -Onset of deafness after age of 18 years -Use of CI device(s) for at least 12 months -Use of Nucleus 24 or Freedom device(s) Participants will spend 3-4 days at our facilities in Madison, WI. If you live outside the Madison area, typically, you would arrive the evening before testing begins and stay in a comfortable nearby hotel.
