'Ear' Change - Left to Right/Right to Left

Imagine, reaching out to press the button of the Bodyworn Controller of your

Cochlear Implant Speech Processor which is on your arm and it's not there...

....it's on your other arm - amazing how one's brain get's used to certain tasks

being done every morning of every day and throughout the day as needing change

programs or activate the Telecoil.

I noticed my left ear's Speech Processor Behind-the-Ear Controller's 3x #675

Cochlear Implant batteries only lasts 2 days. I now switched my right ear's

Bodyworn Controller which use 2 AAA rechargeables to my left ear's Speech

Processor and moved the Behind-the-Ear Controller which use 3x #675 Cochlear

Implant batteries to my right ear's Speech Processor.

As I only had 20 out of 22 electrodes activated previously but now have 21

electrodes activated in my left Cochlear Implant, I'm certain that the 1

electrode that's activated for the 1st time in 11 years since I received the

left Cochlear Implant is draining the 3 #675s as I previously could go 3 and

half days when only having 20 electrodes activated. Not to mention the shocking

sensation at my cheek on the side of that Cochlear Implant when we activited

that little rascal - we had to turn the levels way down will some electical

current left. I bet I'm going to send the little rascal to bed soon if it shows

drinking up my battery juice.

So the test will officially start tomorrow when I will place 2 newly recharged

AAAs in my Bodyworn Controller for my left Cochlear Implant.

And...

have to remember to not place the Cochlear Processor with the Bodyworn

Controller on my right Cochlear Implant and the Cochlear Processor with the

Behind-the-Ear Controller on my left Cochlear Implant.

Well, my left ear is not going strong on battery life - 2 days on either

rechargeable AAA or 3 #675 High Power Cochlear batteries.

Cycling, yesterday, 27km from 3pm today - felt so short - great fun. Now another

dream must come true - horseriding!

Regards

Ilana
