Guest guest
I think you can take all those things you listed. I would stay away from fresh fruits and veggies though. After lunch I will as a co-worker, who is from Canada, if she can think of anything. -Heidi On 7/26/05, Dacia <DEReinke@...> wrote: > > Friends -- > > Next week I will be traveling to Vancouver, British Columbia with my > husband. Guest guest
Good luck, Donna. I don't think you'd look silly, but perhaps you'd rather do what I did. I shoved my favorite pillow in a backpack and took it on the airplane. Was really glad I did. Hopefully your flight will allow you to get up and walk up and down the aisle, too, if sitting is uncomfortable. Best wishes and hope you can enjoy all or at least most of your vacation, loriann > > So I'm going on vacation, taking a 4 hour flight. This is the first > time I'm traveling since my surgery. Guest guest
What are the rules for flying w/carry ons? Would my pillow, a purse, and a small bag be allowed? I haven't flown since before 9/11 Re: Traveling questions Good luck, Donna. I don't think you'd look silly, but perhaps you'drather do what I did. Guest guest
Oh boy, Donna, I know it was post 9/11 and I had my backpack (with my trusty favorite pillow in it) and my purse, but can't remember if I also had a carry on bag (suitcase). You could probably call your airline and ask them if all three would be allowed. Sorry I can't be of more help, loriann > > What are the rules for flying w/carry ons? Guest guest
The best thing would be to call your airline, but I think most of them now count your purse as a carry on. If you can get the pillow in the bag, you would be fine. The last time I flew I saw this lady with a camera around her neck, a purse, and a small roll on bag. She had to get it down to ONLY TWO at the security area. They told her they would check her roll on bag for her, but she didn't want that. She ended up putting her purse in her roll on bag and carrying her camera. My husband flies all the time and he said he sees that alot now. Only TWO carry ons. Guest guest
To throw my two cents in -- I'm pretty sure a purse is not considered a carry-on. When I've flown in the last couple of years, on the plane I've had a purse, a carry-on (not a suitcase), a cane and a pillow which fit in my carry-on. They didn't give me problems. Have a good trip. > > > > So I'm going on vacation, taking a 4 hour flight. This is the first > > time I'm traveling since my surgery. I hardly ever find a chair I can > > sit in comfortably. Guest guest
, This has happened in the last year or two. But like I said, call and check with your airline because they can all be different and I would hate for you to get all the way to security and then find out. Guest guest
Nina, Any desiccant will do..... even those which are in new shoes and pocketbooks, etc. I keep a couple of them in the eyeglass case with my extra processor. When I travel, I do not take my Dry & Store.... no matter how long I will be gone.... and the desiccant in the Ziploc works for me. Happy Hearing! I thought I read that you can just put your Dry-Brick in a ziploc bag and use it that way. Does anyone know? Also, does it matter which Dry-Brick you use. I'm using the Dry-Brick II. Guest guest
Thanks Carol, that's what I was needing to find out. Guest guest
Hello to the group, We've been alerted to your questions about traveling without your Dry & Store, so I hope you don't mind if I pitch in with a comment. (We're the manufacturer.) For those occasions where you either can't or choose not to take your Dry & Store with you, we'd recommend using some sort of airtight container with your Dry-Brik desiccant. If you use something like a Tupperware (showing my age!) or Rubbermaid container that has a little *headroom* for the air to move around your equipment, you should do well. Most important is to *borrow* your Dry-Brik from your home unit while you're on the road. The Dry-Brik II is much much more aggressive and effective than those tiny disposable silica gel desiccant packets. While you won't have the benefit of the warm, moving air that Dry & Store provides, it will be significantly better than a sachet desiccant.) I hope you find this information helpful. If you have any questions at any time, please don't hesitate to contact us by email ( support@... ), or you may find our FAQ helpful (http://www.dryandstore.com/a/faq) Thanks for giving us the opportunity to be of service. Guest guest
Thanks for the info. I was told by someone from Cochlear that we can use any desiccant in a pinch. That is why I keep my extra processor in a hard eyeglass case with the little desiccants. If this is wrong, I stand to be corrected and apologize for passing on this info. Happy Hearing! Guest guest
I don't not work for the manufacturer, but I agree with their post, for the simple reason that those little dessicant packets in shoe boxes and such--we have no idea how long they've been activated! I always use a dri brik for travel. It it likely more reliable as you know when you activated it.
