Congratulations Ben on receiving your bilateral surgery date. May your

bilateral surgeries go well and may you have a smooth recovery! Jan. 6 isn't

too far away, which is nice.

I am also a bilateral cochlear implantee, who had sequential bilateral surgery,

with the right ear in 1989 and the left ear a month ago. I get activated in 6

days and can hardly wait. I have an N24 with the Freedom in the old ear and

Freedom in the new ear.

In addition to and the nucleus forum, there is also a bilateralci and

biciers groups on . Both of those groups have also been great at giving

me additional information when I've had questions regarding bilateral cochlear

implants. I am also a member of the Cochlear community, which is part of

Cochlear Corporation, which has a bilateral group, which has answered many of my

questions as well. I think these forums are a true bonus as back in 1989, there

was no internet and I had to write cochlear implant friends to have questions

asked until I was able to use the phone about 6 months after receiving my ci.

To get one's questions asked in less than a day via the forums is just

wonderful!
