Guest guest Posted December 23, 2008 Report Share Posted December 23, 2008 I am a member of the Florida Coordinating Council for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing and thought you all might be interested in this subject. Last year our Council, in conjunction with the Florida Hospital Association, prepared a video to instruct hospital staff how to interact with deaf and hard of hearing. There is also a guide called, " Effective Communication: The Why and the How… Hospital Compliance with ADA for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. " It's rather expensive, but hopefully the price will come down when the initial outlay is paid off. All the hospitals in the Association have received copies.
