Guest guest
Hello gang, at the risk of everyone receiving this twice, I wanted to resend since I may have used a wrong address on the first one. Thanks for all the good information and holiday cheer from the forum. Its truly heart warming and wonderful Here is my dilemma. I am set for bilateral CI surgery on 1/16. Incredibly, the insurance carrier allowed my request to do both at the same time. I use two hearing aids but can function somewhat, not great, with the right side. The left is gone. Now I am having second thoughts. My concers are: a) I can still function somewhat with the right and need to communicate post surgery and in the dead period before mapping, it may take a while to grasp the new way of hearing and this would let me communicate then, too, and c) it may be overhwhelming to rehab both at one time. I can always have the second one later this year without much hassle since its been approved. Can the good folks here let me know your thoughts? All are welcome and appreciated. Have a Merry Christmas and happy holidays.
