Guest guest
Hi Debbie: I was explanted this past October. I had implants for 11 years (saline) and I was very ill by the time I related my illnesses to my implants. Just wanted to wish you luck. You will feel better once they are out. It's normal to be a little anxcious. If I can answer any questions I'll be glad to. Guest guest
Hi Debbie, So glad you joined us! I hope you have done some research into your explanting surgeon, to make sure he/she is doing a proper explant, and by that, I mean doing a total capsulectomy along with the implant removal. Have you done any reading on any of the explant websites? We have some articles that you might want to review in our files or links section on explant. You are going to want to do this surgery right the first time, so that you don't end up having to go through it again. This is so important. If your surgeon does not take out the scar tissue, and you are ill with autoimmune type symptoms, your chances for a full recovery are going to be reduced. We have articles about how important it is to remove that scar tissue because it is possible that it will continue to illicit an immune response in your body if left behind, so check them out. I know you said you are scheduled for explant on Monday....that is only a few days away! Don't wait until the last minute to discuss the details of your surgery...you should know before you go in exactly what is going to happen, and don't settle for less than implant removal with a total capsulectomy. Check out these explant websites listed in our links section, under the file folder called "Explant Information". /links/Explant_Information_001055272076/ Wishing you the best on your surgery! Guest guest
--- Hi Deb, I had a breast augmentation four yrs ago, and dev. all the usual sick symptoms and dx w/FM reactive arthritis, CFS, DDD and mycos, and a few others, so I will get them out, and probably have nothing left, but an A cup if lucky... Do not be nervous, I have heard that this is much easier than implant... Much less pain was the overall message I heard. I worry too, but it does no good, Just pray and be at peace for healing to take place in your body, girl, this is just the begining of new lives for you and I soon! I feel all mixed up too, but I know I will feel better after these toxic bags come out... Guest guest
Deb, hello nice to meet you. My concern is the capsulectomy. I can't say for sure my PS will do a capsulectomy. I asked him too ( well my husband stress 5 times no matter what you remove the scare tissue) my PS replied I will carefully assess the scar tissue as I always do on every pt and what looks suspicious I will remove. My PS replied I don't think she will have much scar tissue. So, thats where I'm at. I've called tons of PS. They say the same as he does. Most of them are charging 5 times as much, no kidding. Plus I'm not getting general anesthesia. I didn't have it when they were put in. Just IV conscious sedation. This time I will get like a valium, atropine to dry the secretions and a local. It takes 30 min. to remove the implant part, I doubt that is removing scar tissue, but a basica removal doesn't take long. I found that out from numerous PS. So, did you have a capsulectomy? How long has it taken to heal? Could you tell any change right away or was is slow? I'm hoping I will notice a change right away. Did you take antibiotics afterwards. Did you have your implants sent for research? Who did your surgery? Deb, I just can't afford to fly across the world to see Dr.F and Dr. K. Dr. K said it would be 6,000 for implant removal only. I'm thinking no way. I'm not getting a lift or reimplants. Just going back to me. I'll be here all weekened. Please send some info. What were in your implants? How much was your surgery and what did they do? Debbie Deborah S Levy <deborahlevy1@...> wrote: Hi Debbie: I was explanted this past October. Guest guest
Dear Debbie: I didn't have a lot of scar tissue according to my surgeon. He removed all that he could but there was some left in the upper parts of my breast but he told me I shouldn't worry about it. I did not have any immediate change in my symptoms but I did note that the first improvement was the fatique. I still have many of the same symptoms but they are not nearly as extreme and I am getting better. I believe once they are removed our bodies do begin to improve. I haven't started to detox yet but I hope to do that very soon. I had my surgury done by Dr. Melmed here in Dallas, he charged $5000.00 but that included a lift and my insurance picked up a portion of the removal charges but did not pay on the lift. Try not to be too worried about things it will all work out and you will get better once they are gone. There is light at the end of the tunnel.....let me know if I failed to answer any of your questions...Debbye debbie burns <debsings04@...> wrote: Deb, hello nice to meet you. Guest guest
Debbie: You'll do great after surgery. Mine was no worse than the implant, maybe even less painfully. The first two days where the worse but after that I was able to drive and went back to work 6 days later. Good luck!!!
