Guest guest
Hi Defnicity - Been away for a while so forgot some people's names. I was just implanted with my second ear on Sept 4th and activated teh 15th. My audi reminded me that like the first one it would take time to get used to it. Right now, I have equal if not more speech recognition with my first implant. (This was by day 2) Which surprised me. The problems you described about the processor, I often wonder if I had problems with my first processor trying to get it to work better for me. Things stated to sound better, with the new processor in January after I went in for a re-mapping of the new processor. I think this old processor was mapped based on the malfunctions of the processor itself too. Because my left is much better than my right, and I'm thrilled about it. But, there are other factors too. My left was my stronger ear and I considered it my " speech " ear and my right my music ear. I think, my main point here is that we have to train our other ear just a little bit the same we did with the first ear. And yes, if the processor is not working we need to resolve that too. I look at this time around to correct the mistakes I made the first time around. I certainly hope that things improve for you!!! And wish you the best of luck! ~ Kitty S. ~
