Guest guest
Colleen, How are you feeling now? I hope you are seeing improvements! Patty ----- Original Message ----- From: Colleen Sent: Friday, February 06, 2004 3:54 PM Subject: Re: explant after reconstruction followingmastectomy I haven't checked my email in a while, so I'm just now getting around to responding to this post...The reason why I got implants in the first place was to correct a congenital deformity...I only had one breast (I never developed a right breast). I am responding to tell you that my breast implants were large C, small D and when I was explanted this past August, the skin went right back to normal. I'm sure it has alot to do with how long you had your implants and how old you are (I'd assume that younger skin would "bounce back" better). If you do have excess skin, I'm sure the surgeon could remove it at the same time as your explant. I had the same anxiety feelings. I was so sick and just wanted to get those things out of me. Hang in there.
Guest guest
Hi Patty! I have definitely gotten better since my explant, however I am still too sick to do most normal things. I'm trying to get my diet right because I know it is a HUGE part of recovery. I've been kind of quiet the past couple of months because I've had alot of things going on...we nearly had our house foreclosed on....it was so scary...but our family helped us out. We are just in a bad financial situation since I can't work. I was the bread winner. We have a house and 2 new vehicles that we bought back before we knew I was going to get so sick. It makes me so crazy....but I have given it to God and I have faith that it will work out. Thanks for asking about me! Guest guest
Colleen, You will get better, maybe not 100% again, but you can get very, very close, like 99%! I am sure of it, based on what I have seen come true for people like , dimonds, , and so many others, including myself. Just hang in there, be patient, work on a healthy lifestyle, and things will turn around. With God at your side, you have everything to hope for... I got them just after turning 19. I got them out because I was very ill from siliconosis. I was bed ridden for years and went through a terrible long depression. I lost my job because the neurological problems were so great. I eventually got to where I couldn't even have a conversation with anyone. I couldn't remember words and by the time I managed to get to the end of a sentence, I'd forget what I was talking about! My world fell in around me and I was only 22. Anyway, since my explant, my health has improved greatly. I am still too sick to work and do most normal daily activities, but I'm hopeful that one day I'll be 100% again. It's only been 6 months since my explant, so I'm just trying to be patient and take care of myself.......and pray......and pray.......and pray......... Guest guest
Colleen, honey, you sound just like me. Its just so reinforcing when I keep hearing the same problem over and over again, spoken from our hearts. We're not professionals, we come from numerous backgrounds, we don't know each other but our stories are the same. I'm seeking disability too but won't need it. I'll work again. Love yah, I'm 6 months post op too. God Bless, Keep praying and close contact with God and He'll lead you out of this. ~*Patty*~ <redeemed7@...> wrote: Colleen, You will get better, maybe not 100% again, but you can get very, very close, like 99%! Guest guest
Thank you ladies for your encouraging words. It helps so much to know that you all know exactly what I'm going through. It has been so valuable to me to hear from all of you who have gotten better and those of you who are in the same stage as I am, like . Thanks again!
