Guest guest
Shari, I'm sure thats true the phenergan enhances the effect of methadone. Methadone is oral demerol and something else. (I think its actually demerol and phenergan already combined) I've only given it once so I don't remember. I'll have to look at my drug book. If this helps your pain then certainly take it. Pain is the priority here. I think phenergan is a great drug for nausea, especially food poisoning! I know first hand. I had to go to the ER once for food poisoning from seafood. I thought I was going to die. I was dry heaving for 5 hrs. Phenergan IV stoppped my nausea in like 10 min. It was awesome. However if you take it a long time its just hard to get out of your system. I know many pharmacist don't care for it. I never really asked why. I could find out for you if you'd like. I've been told by certain pharmacist its not a good drug. I think its probably okay short term, but I'm thinking they may be applying it to long term use. Like I said I never questioned it, but when I hear remarks like that in the hospital I try to pay attention. They know so much more about drugs than Docs do
