Guest guest
I'm looking for more info on reconstruction and explantion. I've had the silicone inplants in for 1 1/2 years. I'm over whelmed by the info I've gotten, I really need to talk to someone who has done this before me and answer some questions. I had cancer in both breast so I had to have a bilateral masectomy and had both sides reconstructed (that was horrible in and of itself!) with silicone inmplants. I'm haveing varis symptoms in different degrees.I want to get them out ASAP. please help!
Guest guest
Where are you? I had cancer and silicone implant, and had mine for 1 1/2 years, and almost died from it. It is crucial that you have them removed the right way to avoid spillage of silicone into your chest. That happened to me and caused serious health problems. We are out here for you. Let us know how we can help. Lynda website: www.siliconesurvivors.net At 05:29 PM 3/2/2004, you wrote: >I'm looking for more info on reconstruction and explantion. Guest guest
To Ellie Rae and any others.. I found this site back in January. It has been very helpful to me, the information I have gained is invaluable. Like you, I had breast cancer, a bilateral mastectomy, and then I followed that with saline implants for reconstruction. It has been 2 years, and I have had various symptoms of auto-immune illnesses, have seen many docs and specialists since I discovered the "connection" between auto immune symptoms and implants back in Dec. Bottom line I learned that I had to have to be explanted. My surgery date is March 24th with Dr. Feng in Ohio. Am leaving next week. I would be happy to share with you my experiences thus far, what I have learned, etc. as well as my feelings that are unique to situations like ours (reconstruction gone bad...having to go through a "2nd mastectomy" so to speak). Please respond and I can give you my private e-mail or phone number and we can talk. You are on the right site to get lots of support and info. Welcome and May God bless you as you go through this difficult time of diagnosis, follow through decisions, etc. I, as well as others, are here for you! Guest guest
Congratulations on your upcoming explant Sharon! We wish you the best, (but you are going to the best, so you are in good hands!) I know this is a difficult experience for you, but that is why we are here. You'll be in my prayers. Let us know when you get back.
