Since they¹ve cut down on their video flow over the past decade or so, MTV have prided themselves on being pioneers in the reality TV world. From The Real World to The Osbournes, for better or worse MTV have always had their fingers on the pulse of trashy reality television ‹ but are they taking it too far this time?

MTV are launching a new show called I Want A Famous Face, which will premiere on MTV Canada on March 15 at 10 p.m. ET/PT. The show, as the title suggests in no uncertain terms, is like Extreme Make-Over, but with a celebrity slant. Over the course of six episodes, regular folks with big (and, you have to admit, bizarre) dreams will use plastic surgery to emulate the looks of their favourite stars.

Participants on the show inlclude , a 23-year-old transexual from Chicago who wants to look like , Mia, a Britney Spears impersonator who believes that breast implants will give her a more authentic Britney look and Jess, an Elvis impersonator who wants a complete facial make-over to make him look exactly like The King. In the non-musical field, MTV dug up a girl who wants a Pam body, another girl who wants a Kate Winslet body and, best of all, Mike and Matt, a pair of twins who both want their faces to exactly look like Brad Pitt¹s, so that they can make it big in Hollywood. The world already has one Brad Pitt ‹ do we really need three?
