Guest guest
complication mechanical bilateeral breast prosthesis. Intact 425 cc. MENTOR SMOOTH/SALINE.. A. Rt. Breast Prosthesis, Excision: Intace synthetic breast implant (gross diagnosis only) B. Rt. Breast capsule, excision: fibrous capsule w/synovial metaplasia (see note) note: In the attached skekletal muscle, there are focal nonspecific degenerative and regenerative changes. C. Left breast prosthesis, excision: Intact synthetic breastimplant (gross analysis only) D. Left breast capsule, excision: fibrous capsule w/synovial metaplasia and patchy, chronic inflammation(see note) note: In the fibrous capsule there is a focal infiltrate of lymphocytes. In the attached skeletal muscle there are focal nonspecific degenerative and regenerative changes. Specimen data A. received in formalin is a breast prosthesis, weighing 466 grams, and measuring 13. x 13. x 4. cm. The smooth outer shell is grossly intact and has the following inscription:425. The contents of the apparentsingle lumen implant is a clear non viscous fliud. SF B. Received i formalin is a breast capsule, measuring 10.0x8. x .5 cm, and weighing 19 gms. The outer surface contains a moderate amount of fatty and membranous tissue. The inner wall is smooth. The wall ranges from less than .1 to .5 cm in thickness. Representative sections of breast capsulle are submitted in formalin in one cassette. SF C. Received in formalin is a breast prosthesis weighing 466 gms and measuring 12.x 12.x4. cm. The smooth outer shell is grossly intact and has the following inscription: 475. The contents of th apparent single lumen implant is a clear non viscous fluid. SF D. Received in formalin is a breast capsule measuring 10.x9. x3.cm, and weighing 20 gms. The outer surface contains a moderate amount of attached fatty and membranous tissue. The inner wall is smooth. The wall ranges from less than 0.1 to 0.5 cm in thickness. Representative sections of breast capsule are submitted in formalin in one cassette. Guest guest
--- I forgot to mention what Dr. Feng said about my condition... She explained that I was having a hyper immune sensitivity to the silicone bags... She explained by making an analogy of someone being allergic to a food or substance. Guest guest
Iggy, The information shows that they received your left and right breast implants and capsules, all separately in a fixative. The most important information says that in your right capsule, there were signs of tissue changes. Metaplasia is the replacement of one type of tissue with another type of tissue. Synovial refers to joint tendons or cartilage, typically found in scar tissues. In the left capsule, there were those same tissue changes, along with chronic inflammation. The immune system was definitely reacting to the implant. I'm no doctor, so this is just my guess based on what I'm reading. Really, there is nothing surprising here. In fact, you can read about this finding in a study by a doctor just recommended to Kim here, Dr. Copeland in NY. http://www.homestead.com/sosalines/textured.html Patty ----- Original Message ----- From: iggyangel7 Sent: Saturday, March 06, 2004 12:06 AM Subject: My pathology report in full detail, PLEASE HELP, what does this say??? complication mechanical bilateeral breast prosthesis.
