I have not had IBS for almost 1 yr and a half(which I greatly attribute to my great improvement). Anyway, scince I started this detox/strict type diet I have IBS BADLY! Last time I had this also, and is not good because the more I have the IBS, the more I am not absorbing food, and it will make me sicker. It is a vicious cylce. Any suggestions on what I should do/add to diet?? Of course this detox is alot of vegetables. I am also very thin,(no complaints on that one), and if I loose alot of weight I will look anerexic. I am working my way to the liver flush, as I do not want to shock my body. Should I stop the detox thing?? I usually just eat really healthy, but I want to fast ect ect and see how it goes..thanks..dimonds68
Guest guest
Dimonds, That's great that you started this effort, but darn, I am surprised about the IBS! Are you eating organic veggies? Cooking them or eating them raw? One thing you might try if you haven't already is taking enzymes with your meals and even between meals. The enzymes will help to break down your food so it can be better absorbed, and taking enzymes between meals reduces inflammation. You can't take too many either. I heard about one doctor who gave a woman a bottle of enzymes and told her to take the entire bottle before she left his office! Wobenzym is a good brand if you can find it : (here's an excellent site about Wobenzym http://www.myvitanet.com/wobprod.html ) Other enzyme products will work too, but you might want to give that a shot to see if it helps. I hope it does! You've come too far! Fasting will help those IBS symptoms for sure, as it gives the digestive system a chance to rest and heal, so if nothing else works, you may need to cut out some of the vegetables and add them in one by one to see which ones you are reacting to. Guest guest
My mother is an excellent naturpathic. She faithfully takes flax seeds (we grind them in like a coffee grinder) about 2 Tbs. per day and mix with favorite drink. She also tkaes Lecithin it washes out the bowel. 2 Tbs. of that. Its raw lecithin, yellow granuals, it is a detergent. Kinda soaps up. the flax seed has the omega 3 oils in it but its good for all bowel problems. anita kessler <AnitaK001@...> wrote: DIAMONDS, COCONUT OIL. Guest guest
Anita, I totally agree! I have been doing the fat flush plan, and flax seed oil, 2 tblspoon a day is needed in the plan. Wow, I have never went to the bathroom like this ever. It binds to bad fats and washes it through the bowel, esp with an addition of physulim fiber twice a day to bulk up the rest! That so weird you are talking about it, and I just started last week. Fish oil never did this for me before. Esp with thyroid problems, (makes you slower at the potty thing sometimes) Are you on it? Guest guest
Diamonds, I never had IBS, so all I can say is maybe go a little lighter on detox. You may also be having a "herx" Perhaps try to add even more veggies. Also do you take enzymes with each meal? That helps a great deal. They enable your body to utilize nutrients properly, and they actually say that vitamins and food are useless without them. Sounds like that is just what you may need. As we get older , we may less of them. To make more of your body's natural enzymes, do not drink liquid with your meals. Wait at least 20 min after. The water/liquid will wash them away. It helped my gal with her IBS, who tried them. She has a lot less diarrhea and feels lighter on her toes. Swears by it now. I did a search on her condition, and told her to try it after articles kept coming up.... Very cheap too, you can get like 2 months supply for like $10.00 Patty had a great article on Enzymes a while back, perhaps she can retrieve it... I take them with each meal- natural papaya (found at the local health food store. Guest guest
- Dimonds I just suggested Primal Defense on another post about constipation. I think Primal Defense will really help Irritable bowel. I know it helps me tremendously. I also think you are still benefitting from the detoxing whether you get the irritable bowel symptoms or not. I know what you mean though. It is extremely frustrating to deal with this. YOu sound alot like me. I read your post on how sick you got with a previous liver cleanse. I react really strongly to most detoxing too. I tried a coffee enema and threw up bile for hours. I have been fearful of doing the liver cleanse yet. I do the lemon and olive oil though. That seems to help with herxing. Try the primal defense if you can. IT is an excellent product. Good luck to you! Hugs, kathy -- In , " dimonds68 " <XENA6881@a...> wrote: > Hey all.
