Hi guys - I woke up this morning with as set of very red swollen eyes - a yellow puss-like discharge that is sticky but they do not itch. they just burn. The weird thing is that I never had these before but since I started w/ the sinus problems I have had this three times. I looked up "pink eye" on the web and it doesn't look the same - mine are swollen underneath like welts almost to my cheekbone but the other symtoms are similar. It is making me nuts - they are very watery. I have drops left from the last time I had this a few minths back but I am wondering if it could be related to the massive sinus infection I have. It is also getting worse - the pressure has created an opening behind one of my back upper teeth that connects the two - when I do my salt water cleansing of my sinuses everyday in the shower it drains into my mouth. very freaky. Anyone w/ suggestions?

thanks

shari

Shari,

I hope you're already at your doctor's office . . . This doesn't sound like something to mess with . . . I'm pretty sure you're going to need a round of antibiotics! . . . You can deal with any candida issues later.

Make sure you get this cultured Shari. That is the only way to know how to treat whatever it is that is causing the infection, whether it be fungal, bacterial, or stealth viruses and/or MYCOPLASMA. You poor thing! What kind of doctors are you seeing?

Shari,

I know that you take natural supplements, but with an infection don't mess around. Talk to your Doc and get prescription or see what he/she suggests. Sounds like you need antibiotics. If its yellow and draining its infected. Don't mistreat your eyes. Take care of them. Your vision is important.

I am just seeing my primary and the ENT that performed the operations. I can't

seem to really get anywhere with any of them - I asked the primary about anti

fungals last week and she said that unless she saw an operative report stating

that they found fungas in my sinuses that she wouldn't prescribe anything. I

have called my ent twice asking if there was a culture done and nobody seems to

be able to answer my questions - I just called again. I remember asking hte doc

after the first operation in Nov if he fould mold and he stated that he did not

see any " fungal balls " in there. I don't really know what to do. I have been

on Biaxin 2x dailey which is pretty strong but it doesn't seem to be working. I

have an appt today w/ my primary re: the eye infection @ 1:45. i am sure she

will still say to stay on the antibiotics & give me drops treating it as pink

eye which I don't believe it is. I have had that before and it doesn't cause

swelling and redness halfway down your face. I am so frustated!! nobody seems

to want to do any testing - I don't really know how to get my point across w/out

being nasty. I have been on antibiotics since September - a few weeks off here

and there but solid daily since Nov 4th. If this was an infection to be cured

by antibiotics I think it would be gone by now. I am using the coconut oil and

black walnut as much as I can daily.

aghhhhhh!!!

thanks

Shari,

I think I would hit them pretty hard for some solid information on paper. Ask to see specific evidence of the culture results, lab work, a NAME for God's sake of what is causing this. I know you don't want to get nasty, but I think the least they can do is to give you back up evidence of the work they are doing and WHY, in writing so you can know that they have identified the problem. Politely demand the lab work.

This reminds me of a time when I had a vaginal infection for months and months. I kept going back to the gynecologist, and he kept giving me different treatments, probably making the assumption that it was a yeast infection. He gave me a different anti-fungal every time I went. Finally, after about 6 months of that crap, I went to a different gynecologist, who DUH, finally swabbed the inside of my vagina to culture it, and guess what it came back as? A strep infection! I was put on Flagyl immediately, as was my husband. No matter how many different anti-fungals the other gynecologist put me on, it wasn't going to do the job, as it was a bacterial infection!

I hope you get your answer, Shari. I'm so sorry you are suffering.

Hugs,

Patty
