Guest guest
I do too, goes off and on. Wonder how it could be related , but didn’t start until after the implants. Hurts for days, and I cant bite all the way down, cracks even, then bam- gone. Happens about twice a year. Darnest thing... julie ----- Original Message ----- From: gibbense@... Guest guest
-Colleen Just a couple of ideas. Sinus infection can cause that kind of pain. Or just sinus congestion. So can problems with your teeth or gums. Also a condition called TMJ. TMJ is very common with fms and other conditions affecting muscles. I have also gotten this kind of pain when I have been herxing badly to something. My best guess would be something to do with the sinus area. Even killing candida off could produce this kind of pain as a herx. Have you been doing any detoxing or taking any supplements or garlic or coconut oil that could have caused a herx? HOpe it goes away soon. Hugs, kathy -- In , Colleen <cfortner@e...> wrote: > The past couple of days the right side of my jaw has been killing me! Guest guest
I had TMJ when I was a kid and wore mouthpieces for years and had physical therapy for it. I was under the impression that it was gone. I guess that kind of thing never really gets cured. My illness now must have triggered it again.....great....... From: halvey70@... Guest guest
Colleen, I had TMJ issues when I was first married. For some reason it flared when I was in my late 20's, and at that time I had insurance so I had it checked out. I had alot of popping and clicking, and I couldn't open my mouth very wide. I wore braces as a teen, and I am almost certain it had something to do with that. I have heard of others with braces experiencing TMJ issues. All I can say is that God protected me then because it could have been another medical nightmare. The TMJ doctor who I saw wanted to do surgery on me....he talked about putting a teflon piece in my jaw, but first I had to have an MRI of my head. However, he forgot to ask me something...when I got to the MRI imaging center, one of the questions was "Are you pregnant?" I had just found out I was! So, they could not do the MRI, he could not do the surgery, and instead he made me buy this mouthpiece that was totally impractical. I was a manager at that time in a retail store and I had to talk to people at work! I just couldn't wear it. All I could do was wait it out. Thank God I was made to wait! By the end of my pregnancy, my TMJ issues healed on their own. It slowly got better and I never went back, and have never had another issue with popping and clicking in my jaw. That was in 1990 and 1991, over a decade ago. I shudder to think of what would have happened if I had gone through with that surgery. Those poor victims of teflon jaw implants suffered horribly, and I think there was a lawsuit involving them. They have continued to suffer as their jawbones disintegrated, can you imagine the agony? I don't know if our illness triggers it again or not....I have not experienced it, but I can see how it would. I pray that you find healing and relief, and I sure wish I had something more to offer than just the hope that it will go away on its own like mine did. Guest guest
Patty, Thanks for your reply. You are always so sweet. That is a great story. God is really at work in our lives. I am hoping it will go away on it's own. I got a good night sleep last night (on sleeping pills) and it doesn't seem to be as bad this morning...so we'll see. Thanks again!
