Guest guest
Wow, thanks for the warm welcome. Patty, thanks for understanding that I am " bummed " ... that's nice to hear ! I guess I'll tell my story. I am 27, 4 11 and weigh about 95-98 lbs. (fluctuates with my cycles) I've always been small breasted and TOYED with the idea of getting implants for several years. I have positive self esteem and certainly don't need breasts to " gain confidence " etc. etc. I just wanted a little work done. For about the past 2 years my husband has had a very good job and has made a decent income. With more $ there was more opportunity to get the implants. A year ago this month we went to vegas and saw a show where there was a topless piece (it was not like an X rated show or anything just a regular vegas show) and the women had breasts.. I wanted the same .. that's when i decided to get a BA. I researched for a year and joined a WONDERFUL website with wonderful women. That is probably one reason why I am so sad is because I really enjoyed talking with them but I can't go back there and see how they love their new bbs. (jealousy I guess) I went on 2 consults. They were fairly brief. I knew of the risks with silicone (no way in hell would I ever get silicone)Would you believe they were actually pushing me to get silicone????? (the plastic surgeons) I honestly believed Saline was fine. And I do believe there are women (i might venture to say many?) out there with implants who have no problems but I just can't risk so much on so little. I love my life , I love my husband and it's not like my breasts are deformed or anything. I decided on a plastic surgeon and today was the day for my preop. I didn't go. And yes I do feel crummy because earlier today I went in Target and saw all the cute bathing suits that I can't wear because there's nothing to fill them out with ! The main reason I decided against is I got a baseline mammo and it came back abnormal. This scared the CRAP out of me. I went in and found out it was just a calcium deposit (sp) and was normal but when i got the news it scared me. I realized I can't handle that sort of stress... Also, the stories of Lupus, etc. etc. wasn't anything to sneeze at either. I am certainly not anti plastic surgery in moderation, but it isn't for me... not now anyway. Not until this whole mess is cleared up and it doesn't look like it will be anytime soon. I'd like more evidence that all of these mystery illnesses are NOT caused by the implants ! Thanks for listening . --- In , " dimonds68 " <XENA6881@a...> wrote: > Hello there Holly, no need to be BUMMED, you should be out > rejoicing about your HEALTHY life!!!!. I am rejoycing for you!! Guest guest
One more thing, I was also very uncomfortable with the way my PS answered my questions on the risks. He was like " well there are risks to every surgery " etc. etc. etc. It was so generic. I just wanted to say " show me you have a brain, let's talk about this! Guest guest
- Dear Holly I can so totally understand where you are coming from. I have always been extremely flat and very insecure since I was a teen in that area. My two sisters and best friend got them before I decided to get them. After all saline is just sterile salt water right? I had them for 11 years and was going slowly downhill until about 3 years ago when a tragedy in my family sent me into deep grief. The symptoms accelerated until I thought I was going to die. I found this site--God led me--and had them out 2 1/2 years ago. I had many symptoms of scleroderma and lupus. I have spent thousands of dollars and quit my job to try and get better. I am doing much better but am not symptom free and probably never will be. I still spend lots of money on health products. My two sisters and friend think I am nuts that the implants have nothing to do with my problems. But I know they did. Two weeks after explant, this terrible unrelenting drunken like dizziness that I had started experincing left. Since explant many many symptoms have gotten much better. My one sister is starting to develop some of the symptoms I had. She thinks it part of getting older. She is 50. My other sister is 44 and she seems to be symptom free. My good friend has had many many problems and doesn't think any of them are related to her implants. However she she used to be in great shape and work out all the time and now she has so many neck and shoulder and arm problems and depression and messed up hormones. So out of the 4 of us, only 1 of that group probably has no symptoms from her saline implants. It is just that many people will never connect the two. So you definitely made the safe decision and I applaud you! Take care. kathy -- In , " Holly Z. Guest guest
Thanks kathy !
