Deb, that’s awesome. I wish you the best in your recovery. Sounds like you are on your way. I have always said I hug better, and have my heart closer to the ones I love. I love my breasts, so soft and real. And snuggling IS better! I have not one regret in getting them out ever. I sleep sooooo good now- Even on my tummy- yippie! it has been over a year, and I love myself better, and feel great! My hubby loves them this way too. He says they are softer, and also, my face has that glow back again. Something I lost with the implants a long time ago. You go girl! Love

Hey girls, happy valentine's day to all of you!I have good news. I was explanted on monday. I went back to work today. No heavy lifting ofcourse. I'm feeling so much better already. My mind seems to be clearing. I'm starting to see I've had that darn brain fog just like everybody else. I've slept better every single night since my explant. I can't wait til I turn over to my tummy. My incisions and breast are so tender and sore from all the scraping etc. I can snuggle up close to my hubby now. I can get close to my kids when they hug me now. I love it. I feel like a whole new woman. I love it. I love it. I love it.I can't wait to go back to the PS in 1 month and show him and all the girls I'm great! I can't wait to tell them still after 1 month I have no regrets about explanting and just wish I had done it earlier. I told him at my first post op I was so happy I got them out. He looked at me like, well you have a long road ahead of you with this serious face. Like I was supposed to be upset they were out. Who was he kidding? Certainly not me.I got my patho report that my doc did. I had no infection, abnormal bacteria nor silicone in my sample from the capsulectomy.I sent my implants yesterday to Dr. Blais for testing. We'll see what he finds.I love my new breast!(because they're me)Encouragement to all the ladies who are wanting their implants out and are afraid to do it. You'll be so happy when you get them out! I was scared to, now I'm on top of the world. Deb

Ann,

you can trust any pathologist. They document what they find in your report . They have nothing to do with your surgeon really. So whatever they find trust that. The pathologist is separate from your PS. The pathologist does not work for the PS.

What happened with me is that my PS gave me the tissue sample. I dropped it off at the lab at the hosp. I work at. Then the lab sent it to the pathology dept. my PS uses. My PS said it would be much cheaper this way if I sent it then him sending it. I didn't really question it, so I just did that. Then my PS office called and gave me my results after they got them, plus they faxed the report to me. I got everything in documentation.

I sent my capsules to Dr. Blais. My PS gave them to me in a sterile bag sealed per Dr. Blais's orders. I sent them off over a wk ago. My husband called his office and from where I live it takes like 8 working days for them to get the package. Plus the testing takes a while. So, he prob. has not gotten it yet.

Does this answer your questions?

Deb,

Thanks again for the info. I got confused when my PS said that the

implants " go back to the manufacturer " for testing. I assumed that

the manufacturer would not tell me the truth about anything. Maybe I

misunderstood. I will ask more about this.

PS Why send to Blais if they all tell the truth? Is the exam not as

thorough?

Thanks again,

Ann

Ann,

let me clarify.

1. I had tissue from scar capsule sent to pathology for testing to see what would be in the surrounding tissue.

2. The implants themselves went to Dr. Blais for different testing.

Ann - for goodness sakes please do not let your PS send them back to the mfg -

he is just covering his backside. They don't want you to know the truth so you

have no legal recourse. Demand to leave the hospital w/ them at explant and

have them checked - I used Dr Blais as he is VERY experienced with this issue in

particular - if it weren't for his detailed report I never would have won my

appeal w/ my health insurance co to pay me back for explant. My original PS

pulled the same stunt on me in 99 when I had my 3rd operation due to deflation.

I wanted it to have it checked and he gave me the crap about sending it back to

the mfg. I believed him but when I awoke from the operation (he operated at his

office) I asked to see it just out of curiosity to see what they looked like and

they refused to let me see it. It was after this deflation (complete - overnite

it was gone)that I became sick. I don't think it was a coincidence that they

wouldn't let me see it. My explant was last April and one had black mold it and

around it. yuk!!

Hope this helps!!!

Shari
