Guest guest
Hi everyone I too have been taking armour for 5 days now. I have nausea which comes and goes, can't really say i feel any better or worse at the moment, apart from my lumpy throat has gone. How long should i give it? The headaches do go away with paracetamol. Is it just that my body is adjusting? Ali X
Guest guest
Thanks Sheila I am taking 1/2 grain am. Maybe i sould split this. I have never had an adrenal test. But i have been taking NAE for a couple of months now. Only 1 per day though. Ali X > > Your body is probably adjusting to the other hormones that are in Armour Ali and it should soon become acclimatised to this new change. Five days is no time to expect to be feeling better. You need to add another half grain in a couple of days and stay on that for 3 to 4 weeks. I have no idea why you should be experiencing nausea and would doubt this would be from taking Armour unless you have low adrenal reserve, and if this is the case, you must supplement the adrenals first. Have you had a 24 hour salivary adrenal profile recently? > > Remind me how much Armour you are taking and whether you are taking it as a split dose or not. > > Luv - Sheila > >
Guest guest
Hi Ali I would recommend you increase your NAE with immediate effect. Take one with breakfast and another with lunch. Stay on that for a couple of weeks and then add another one with your breakfast so you are taking three tablets daily. Don't take any after 1.00p.m. because of the extra adrenaline and it might keep you awake. Always take your Armour split into two doses. You are probably feeling woozy because you are taking all the T3 in one dose, and your body can't quite cope with that all at once. luv - Sheila Thanks SheilaI am taking 1/2 grain am. I experienced nausea when I started on armour thyroid and I had been supplementing my adrenals for nearly a year. I had to stop after a week and I am waiting until I see Dr P next week. I think I will have to supplement the adrenals more - I haven't added hydro cortisone yet - feeling a bit of a baby here. I do use Dr 's dynamite adrenals and I have used NAE but don't think the adrenaline here agrees with me. I did speak to Dr P and he hasn't heard of anyone not getting on with NAE .... (think I must be the exception or maybe it is the combination of NAE and AT). My saliva tests have shown the cortisol up but both cortisol and dhea low still. luv keri

Guest guest
I know people from another group who couldn't take NAE because of the extra adrenaline, which is why I was advised to take Thorne Adrenal Cortex instead, as I already had high levels of anxiety and it was put to me that extra adrenaline was the last thing I needed. I seem to remember someone else on this group posting the same thing not long ago. I didn't improve with the Thorne though and my cortisol/dhea levels are similar to yours now and obviously needed HC sooner. I'm just biding my time until I can start on HC or Isocort, depending on the outcome of my first endo appointment next week. Guest guest
HI Gillian I honestly doubt your endocrinologist will even admit you might have an adrenal problem, but we will wait and see on that score. It might be a good idea to start on Isocort, rather than hypodrocortisone and see if that works for you. Guest guest
Hi Ali, Could be body adjusting, have you thought of reducing dose slightly before trying it again to see if that helps. May be a reaction to one of the fillers Note that if you take the same pain killers for too long this can actually cause headaches so best to keep changing types to stop this happening. Guest guest
Hi Sheila, Sorry I've not done this sooner but I'm struggling both physically and mentally and just not functioning, can't think and so can't put things into words properly. I'd like to post more but usually only do it when I have a bit of clarity as I get more stressed with frustration. I agree about the endocrinologist and the adrenal problem and am just hanging on (desperately) to get this appointment out of the way as I'm to contact Dr Peatfield afterwards to decide on HC/Isocort and possible T3 cos as we know, if I do manage to get a diagnosis of Hashimotos I'm only going to be prescribed T4 - but I have the other positive antibodies (ANA & ASMA) which point to possible AIH (Autoimmune Hepatis) and the treatment for that is prednisolone. I think you're right about the Isocort, June suggested that as well. I thought I might order some now in readiness as I've been waiting so long to get started and know I'm getting worse all the time. Thanks a lot, Gillian. > > HI Gillian > > I honestly doubt your endocrinologist will even admit you might have an adrenal problem, but we will wait and see on that score. Guest guest
HI Gillian Oh, how I wish I could come over there and wave a magic wand over your head and tell you everything will be alright and that you will get better. You WILL get better - but my magic wand would have made thios instantaneous. I would definitely order the Isocort. Have you spoken with Dr Peatfield lately to see if there is anything else you can be doing to give you a bit of a lift before you see your endocrinologist?
