Guest guest
Hi again, I originally joined this group to ask about the side effect of "pounding pulse" that I was experiencing when trying to increase my dose of Lugol's fr 1 drop per day. I found quite a bit of very helpful info from both the group & the Thyroid4Health site & so I continued with increasing the dose. But now I am just so tired of this thumping pulse, 24/7, through my body - I have put up with it for 2 months now. I am up to 6 drops per day & was hoping to get to 8 drops. But I really feel like taking a break from the "pulsing" which, in combination with the tinnitus, is getting me down. The pulsing neither increases nor decreases as I increase the drops - it has just stayed the same ever since I increased it above 1 drop. I also this week took my temps three times per day, just to see how it was going. I took them for 2 weeks about 8 weeks ago & it was very erratic from 36.1 (97) & never above 36.5 (97.7) every day. But now I was really pleased to see that the temps are far more stable at around 36.5. So something is working. But I will just do a bit of an experiment & go back to 1 drop per day for a week & maybe keep checking the temps too (although I would really like a "holiday" from all that too). Guest guest
It could be an adrenal reaction. Have you had your adrenals tested? ----- Original Message ----- Hi again, I originally joined this group to ask about the side effect of "pounding pulse" that I was experiencing when trying to increase my dose of Lugol's fr 1 drop per day. Guest guest
Hi Steph & Tracey, thanks for yr thoughts for me re the Adrenal glands. A month or so ago I suggested to my GP that maybe I should have my adrenals tested but he just dismissed it as being too expensive a test. But I might ask him again now. He did put me onto Metagenics Adrenotone about 3 months ago and so I assume this maybe why my temp is less erratic now. And which would indicate that they are improving (I think). When I first mentioned this " pulsing " to him after trying to increase the Lugol's to 2 drops (he put me onto Lugol's for the Iodine deficiency which was found by urine test), he just dismissed it as being very unlikely that Lugol's was causing it as in the " old days " people would take about 60 drops per day - so that was that. Your group & the Iodine4Health site are the ONLY sources of extra info I have been able to find at all - so thank goodness you are there. Pru > > It could be an adrenal reaction. Guest guest
Oh, I should have added that there is another group, FibroRecovery, that has also been a major source of info for me as I have Fibromyalgia. Guest guest
You can test your adrenals with or without your doctor. ZRT labs will send you the kit and directions to take the saliva test to tell you what is going on with your cortisol throughout the day. I believe you can purchase it through canary club. ----- Original Message ----- > Hi Steph & Tracey, > > thanks for yr thoughts for me re the Adrenal glands. > > A month or so ago I suggested to my GP that maybe I should have my > adrenals tested but he just dismissed it as being too expensive a > test. Guest guest
Or you can get them from www.vrp.com as well.
