Guest guest
I have same brown stain on my lower calf too, but only on one leg, and I don't seem to have a problem with low adrenals. Would be nice to know what causes it. It looks like I've been a bit over heavy on the fake tanning lotion! Anne Sent from . A Smarter Inbox. Guest guest
Hi Keri There is lots about this particular 'sign' of hypoadrenai on the Internet, but this site is particularly good http://tuberose.com/Adrenal_Glands.html . Glad to see that you got back home safe and sound and just to say it was really lovely to see you up here. We really enjoyed your company. Luv - Sheila One of the conditions where this happens is in low adrenal reserve. One of the symptom which is occasionally encountered in hypoadrenia is that of increased pigmentation of the skin. Hi Sheila and , very interesting. I have pigmentation in my right armpit and have had for years - I saw a dermatologist who said it was nothing. I concluded that it was to do with my liver being in that meridian. I would be interested to hear more.luv keri No virus found in this incoming message.Checked by AVG. Guest guest
I have the horrible 'ginger' mottling on the backs of my arms - I think they are called liver spots if they are dark, but mine aren't, but I hate them and would do anything to disguise them. I think I have an adrenal problem at the moment and need to up my NAE. luv - Sheila I have same brown stain on my lower calf too, but only on one leg, and I don't seem to have a problem with low adrenals. Guest guest
Why do I have to be different, I have little white loss of pigment dots on my shins and calves about the size of pin heads. These stay white when I go brown. Guest guest
I was once told (which doesnt mean its true) that these were little white fungus and 'selsun' dandruf shampoo dabbed on gets rid of them. At that time in my life I tried it and it did work (30 years ago) but have no idea if it was right, never had them since. jenny freeman > > Why do I have to be different, I have little white loss of pigment > dots on my shins and calves about the size of pin heads. Guest guest
Hi Selsun is a selenium sulphide dermatitis treatment ~ still available. The generally low levels of selenium in the soil and food chain cause, not only poor thyroid function (deiodinase enzymes), but also mitochondrial dysfunction (through oxidative damage). The advice on selenium supplementation is valid on this forum; short- term rapid replacement may be OK up to 200 micrograms/day, but longer term, it needs to be kept down to somthing like 50-100micrograms/day and preferably with confirmatory testing of Zinc, Copper and Selenium in serum. best wishes Bob > > I was once told (which doesnt mean its true) that these were little > white fungus and 'selsun' dandruf shampoo dabbed on gets rid of them. > At that time in my life I tried it and it did work (30 years ago) but > have no idea if it was right, never had them since. > jenny freeman > > > > Why do I have to be different, I have little white loss of pigment > > dots on my shins and calves about the size of pin heads. Guest guest
Hi F, Selsun contains selenium and we hypos are often deficient in this mineral. I also think you may have suffered from mollusca contagians to be given this advice ( my son had this so I know the difference) these white spots are simple areas with no pigment. The mollusca ones are raised and if left dry up, a small lump scales off with the skin. Guest guest
Hi all , I seem to remember on reading the hypoadrenal symptoms on http://www.drrind.com that this was mentioned especially with a darkening around the mouth. Subject: Re: Fw: Brown Stain on Skin I wonder if this explains why my ankles and now the top of my feet are brown mottled. It is very embarrassing because it looks as if it is dirty. Guest guest
Hi I really don't have a clue - I had assumed it was because of all the insect bites I have had over the years. The skin although it heals has lost its pigmentation where those bites were. For many years I have been bug bait and now that I have finally been diagnosed as being hypo-t with hashimotos - I have found last summer especially the bugs ate me for breakfast, lunch & dinner! This year I am trying to stay away from the biting insects as much as possible and hopefully not get a bad reaction like last year. We shall have to see how successful I am at that. I spend a lot of time outside. As for the mottled legs I am beginning to rather like the look of them especially as I am now getting a tan so you see there is an upside to everything even if it does make you look different. remember the cup is always half full you are you and I are me and we are all the better for it........ regards, ................ time I had a sit down and a cuppa I is pooped! > > > > > > Why do I have to be different, I have little white loss of > pigment > > > dots on my shins and calves about the size of pin heads. Guest guest
Hi I have been taking vitamin B supplements and since taking them I have noticed I get eaten a lot less often. It is such a long time ago but I did read up that veggies were more appetising than carnivores and the reason so many people swear by Marmite is because it is a source of vitamin B. Guest guest
Hi This has been very helpful as I have a multicolored skin ha ha and have noticed white spots and brown ones just thought it was ageing. I think I am taking more notice of my skin now that I am loosing weight and wanting to look good and realise that something is wrong! I will look into both of these advices that are given on thesite you have pointed out. My doctor will really think I am going batty now! Thanks > > Virtiligo has white spots. Guest guest
Hi , I use the 'jungle formula' mozzie repellent and have found it quite effective. My OH rarely gets bitten. I too seem to be missing pigment where I've been bitten- hadn't really thought of that before. Guest guest
Thanks Jacqui, I have been thinking of taking vitamin B supplements but not got around to it yet - marmite I like too although I think the supplements might be better for me. I tend to run out of energy late in the afternoon especially if I have been excercising a lot - my last hit was when I played golf and the last 4 holes were murder; my stamina was just gone! > > Hi > > I have been taking vitamin B supplements and since taking them I have > noticed I get eaten a lot less often. Guest guest
Try Vitamin B complex and you might need Vit.B12. Guest guest
Thanks Sheila, My cholesterol and BP seem to be under control but the vit B might be a very good idea. My Dr gave me a vit b12 shot last christmas when I hit rock bottom and it really helped so I think I will try some B12 first. ........... > > Try Vitamin B complex and you might need Vit.B12.
