Guest guest
Hi Caroline, I wonder if this is covered by the Freedom of information act> I do think however that they are allowed to delete certain things. If you go private you should not need a referral as after all you are paying! >>>>>Huddersfield have just rung me and told me Dr Burrows will not see me because of what my dr has put in the referall letter and they will not tell me what it was!!!! I have rung my own dr and the surgery have told me womeone will ring back. What rights do I have to find out what was put in that letter? Guest guest
The symptoms of hypothyroidism can be mistaken for symptoms of fibromyalgia . WHY does he have to mention this? Keep us posted . Luv - Sheila Hi Shelia Gp has just agreed to do another referral letter to Dr Burrows stating that i suffer from the symptoms of hypothyroid, hope this works because he has said he will also have to put that I have fibromyalgia. I just hope this letter does not go missing, the last one was lost for over 3 weeks. Thanks Caroline sheilaturner <sheilaturnertpa-uk (DOT) org.uk> wrote: I think they all do some private work , but Dr Burrows and Dr Hammond also do NHS. I personally would think it wrong if Dr B agreed to see you privately if he refuses to see you within the NHS because of what was written in your GP's letter. .. Never miss a thing. Guest guest
Hi nne Thats a good idea, I will probably ring tomorrow and ask the secretary to fax it direct to them, she may do so anyway as they gave her a lot of problems. It would be over an hour journey for me to take myself. Guest guest
I don't know why he has to mention it, he has very poor english and is hard to understand. He has just rung back and asked if I want some blood tests, fooloshly I said no just give me the referral. He even said he would do T3 and antibodies when he point blank refused to do them before. My symptoms for fibromyalgia are: Pain, neck shoulders, jaw, hip, knees ankles and all over headaches no motivation exhaustion unrefreshed sleep, waking in pain at 4am at mo and unable to get back to sleep swollen tongue brain fog/ forgetfullness problems swallowing and often choke dry skin cold and hands and feet always ice tinnitus no sex drive constipation Dry sin foggy thinking etc. etc. etc Not all of them are recognised as fibromyalgia but most are, I don't know why he has to mention this, i did tell him that research is pointing to the fact that fibromyalgia is undignoised thyroid problems and I think he just picked up on this. I am waiting now not quite as excited but if no joy in 2 weeks am going to start self treating again as I just can not cope, we have a lot of stress again. Have been ripped of twice by builders, been told not worth suing and our neigbours hous was damaged last time so we are having to have our re done and the front of theirs too, with this stress over the dr's appointment and the pain and fatigue I am just finding it so hard to cope. Sorry shelia I am Caroline not LOL sheilaturner <sheilaturner@...> wrote: The symptoms of hypothyroidism can be mistaken for symptoms of fibromyalgia . WHY does he have to mention this? Guest guest
Sorry Caroline (got it right that time). All of those symptoms are symptoms of hypothyroidism. I hope to goodness you get your appointment sorted out soon. Do you know why Dr B refused to see you - I mean, because your GP wrote that you suffer fibromyalgia, is there a specific reason then why he decided he did not wish to see you. This doesn't make sence to me. luv - Sheila I don't know why he has to mention it, he has very poor english and is hard to understand. Guest guest
The hospital would not tell me but when I spoke to my GP he said that the letter from Dr Burrows suggested I visit a fibromyalgia clinic in Leeds. I guess he just thought i was trying to see the wrong specialist. Hopefully the new letter will say I have symptoms of thyroid illness. I am going to ring the surgery monday and see if they will fax it direct then I can ring the hospital on Tuesday and hopefully within a few weeks will see him. I am so pleased you agree with me my symptoms are thyroid even after Dr P's diagnosis I sometimes wonder if I am right. Guest guest
Hi Caroline If you do get an appointment with the new referral letter, do make absolutely sure that they ONLY send you an appointment to see Dr B. Quite often you get an appointment saying you will be seen by Dr B or a senior registrar or other endocrinologist. Ask the appointments clerk to write it on your notes that you will only see Dr B. This is what I have done. Luv - Sheila The hospital would not tell me but when I spoke to my GP he said that the letter from Dr Burrows suggested I visit a fibromyalgia clinic in Leeds.
