Here's a big hug for you ((((((X))))))

I know from my own situation that the road to regaining health is a

long one. It's been a year for myself since I saw a private GP and

although my health has improved I know I still have a long way to go.

I try everything to keep my spirits up as a good laugh really helps me!

Think of all the things that make you smile inside and do them when you

need a lift. Hope things get better for you soon

Lyn

Please can someone send me some strengh ?

Hi Stephie

I just hate it when doctors insist that you try stronger and stronger medication if it is not working - especially BP medication. You could perhaps help yourself here by using some high doses of natural CoEnzyme Q10 and also Niacin (Vitamin B3) - but use the non-flushing Niacin. You need doses about 300 mgs of each to do you any good. Many members have been helped with these two supplements and been able to cut down on their synthetic BP tablets, which can be a nightmare for some.If you are having such a bad reaction, you should not be carrying on using these particular tablets and should speak with your GP immediately as obviously, your body is unable to tolerate them. Ask to speak with your doctor as an emergency on Monday morning, or phone NHS Direct and ask their advice. I wish I could send you some strength, all I can send is my love and a big (((HUG))) in the hope you feel better soon.

Luv - Sheila

Hi Everyone,and Sheila

Although I have just recently seen a private doctor and hope there will be light at the end of the tunnel . I am feeling ill to-day. Once again my GP has asked me to try a stronger tablet for high blood pressure/palpitations and I am feeling the consquences of this. I was taken off beta blockers and now take Tilldiem 200 and felt improved through this. Then trie Tilldiem300 as BP /pulse not low enough which gave me worse symptoms and I swiftly abandoned those. Just tried 240mg this week. ( GP thinks we should build up slowly) Once again last night was hell! Had terrible pains in arms and legs, heart beating with horrible pounding beats, vicious cramps in legs, back pain, insomnia, crashing headache. Please can someone send me some strengh ? I feel like throwing all medications in the bin but of course I know that would be stupid.

Sorry for the moan,

Best Wishes

Stephie T

Hi Stephie

Did you look at the Wiki on this substance?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diltiazem

let me know if there is anything discordant about what you read and

what you experience?

Is Dawn also having problems with benzodiazepines?

best wishes

Bob

Hi Steph

I am the Dawn Bob is talking about and yes I am having trouble with

this class of drug and my hypothyroid state and the thryoid hormones

and all that jazz. I had no idea they used this class as a bp drug,

how ridiculous, there are at least another 3 classes of bp lowering

drugs if you absolutely have to have them, I am on benzos for anxiety,

have been long term and they mine are terrible to get off. I am also

on a thiazide bp lowering drug.

Definately go to the doctor and tell him the side effects are horrible

and you need one of the other kinds. What is your bp just out of

interest? I would be on the Q10 and the Niacinamide in high doses as

Shiela said but I cannot afford them, the Q10 in those doses are above

my budget.

Chin up lassie, lets feel ill together, lets heal together, I cannot

send you strength (I aint got any lol) but ask God to help you and

send you more Hugs.

lotsa luv and God bless

Dear Lyn,

Thanks so much for your kind words they are very much appreciated. I had a better night last night so I am returning your big hug with my best wishes and what extra strength I feel I have to-day I share with you and send a little of that back also. It is more bearable when you know you are not alone.

Hi Sheila,

Thanks very much for the advice, I have used NHS Direct a few times in the past and they were the ones who encouraged me to keep pressing for help with the chest pains/palpitations before I was ever diagnosed with the autoimmune disease. Having crashed out on the sofa after work yesterday afternoon. Apart from making drinks ect, I did nothing. I have had a better night and managed to get a bit more sleep. I will find out about getting the tablets you mentioned. I did not take the tildiem yesterday, just could not face it. Probably why I had a better night. I have an appointment on the 23rd with GP but will try to get in sooner. Thanks for the support the love and the big hug.

Love

Hi Bob,

Thanks for this, I was interested to see all the contraindications for

the drug. Seems to fit all the bad effects I have been experiencing. I

did not take the drug yesterday ( who would want to go back for another

beating) I have experienced a somewhat better night.

Thanks again

Hi Dawn,

Bless you for the kind message. My last BP was 141 over 89 with pulse

83. This was taken at the local chemist, it was higher at the docs and

he had me straight on the ecg machine but it never shows anything

untoward regarding rhythm. I have also had a 48 hour heart monitor and

fairly recently a cardiac monitor which you held to your chest when you

were having an episode and again no abnormal rhythm during the

palpitations. I have been tried on various tablets this last

year,Coversyl, Verapamil ,Atenolol. One of them gave me tremors which I

could not control. That one was prescribed by the heart specialist!

Another one which the name of escapes me seemed to work quite well but

made me feel very depressed. I am sorry you are having problems also. I

can't believe how much suffering is being experienced with this illness.

As I have had a bit better night I will send you back a bit of my

strength and my gratefull thanks for the message.

Luv Stephie T

PS They are sending me for an endoscopy because of the bloating I have

and the enema which you have to take beforehand has just arrived, guess

what tablet you must not be on ??? Ha Ha yes calcium blockers!!!

Hi

Well at least they are watching out for you with all the testing, I

just got the drugs lmao, then later when I went back with shortness of

breath years later I got an echocardio which showed my valve was only

slightly sloppy??? hehe I just love it. Its a good job we have some

friends and companions to discuss this with, and this forum, its a

Godsend. Thanks for the strength, I can use all I can get but take

care of yourself hon.

lotsa luv
