Guest guest
Hi , if your adrenals aren't too bad, maybe you start with nutri adrenal or nutri adrenal extra, available from www.yournutritionshop.co.uk, I think you can take up to 6 per day and split the dosage morning and lunchtime, but general opinion is to start off with a low dose to see how you respond, maybe 1 or 2 per day. If you have a 'sensitive' stomach maybe the nutri adrenal better for you than the nutri adrenal extra, the extra has added vitamins and higher strength. My salivary test came back bit 'erratic' but within range overall and the nutri adrenal extra worked fine for me. I felt a difference within a week although nothing miraculous but helped with blood sugar symptoms and enegy levels were slightly increased. On the advice of Dr P I took the nutri adrenal extra for two weeks (taking up to 4 per day), then added 3 nutri thyroid until I went to see him and he said that I needed Armour as the nutri thyroid wouldn't be enough, I have an unopened pot of nutri thyroid if you or anyone else is interested? I am still taking the nutri adrenal extra and upping it with my Armour increases just to be on the 'safe side' but will eventually 'wean' off them once Armour is settled. I have no experience with anything beyond adrenal supplements, quite a few people on here are taking medication but that seems to be a 'second' step if nutri adrenal is not working, I'm sure someone else will comment on that. I think there are other supplements you can take but I just took what Dr P suggested. I think there is info on the TPA website by Dr P about treating adrenals if that's any help. Do you feel that you have strong adrenal symptoms? Mind you, I think it's hard to tell really if you have hypo symptoms too, kinda get mixed up. Are you on any medication for hypo? Ruth x PS we abbreviate nutri adrenal extra as NAE, if you're new it helps to know these things! :-) > > Hi > What adrenal supplement does everyone recommend? Guest guest
Hi Thanks for that, I am doing the salivary test tomorrow and posting it Monday to NPTech. I really dont know if I need adrenal support but am just doing the test to rule things out if you see what I mean, yes I take 150mcg of levo daily, is it ok to keep taking while I treat the adrenals? Its funny you should mention low blood symptoms, I get them and I am not diabetic. Is this a sign of low adrenal function? I will post my results when I get them and hopefully some of you good people will point me in the right direction! Many thanks From: lostgirl7784 <ruthmillward77@...>Subject: Re: Adrenal supplementsthyroid treatment Date: Saturday, 28 June, 2008, 9:29 PM Hi , if your adrenals aren't too bad, maybe you start with nutri adrenal or nutri adrenal extra, available from www.yournutritionsh op.co.uk, I think you can take up to 6 per day and split the dosage morning and lunchtime, but general opinion is to start off with a low dose to see how you respond, maybe 1 or 2 per day. Guest guest
Hi , This will depend if you have a conversion problem & if this is why you need adrenal help. If this is the case you could get a dump from T4 rapidly converting - at the first signs just stop all thyroid meds until dump is over, and then start again slowly in the first few days. Val I really dont know if I need adrenal support but am just doing the test to rule things out if you see what I mean, yes I take 150mcg of levo daily, is it ok to keep taking while I treat the adrenals? Guest guest
Hi Margaret - you can assure your sisters that the bovine adrenal glandulars are made from cows reared in New Zealand where they do not have mad cow disease. We would never recommend a product that had such a risk. Luv - Sheila My sisters (all under active thyroid)seem to think that as supplements ar " Bovine " that you can get mad cow disease !!!!!!!!!!! are they just being MAD COWS. Would welcome your imput. xxxxxxxxxxxxx >
