I have read posts where before someone gets banded, they have to drink liquids for awhile. I didn't have to do that and after I had the surgery, my surgeon just told me to eat soft foods for a couple of days. I have a friend who's in my online support group for trach-wearers who got banded in Iowa. had to do the pre-band liquid diet and after she got banded, she had to do the post-op liquid diet.
