Ann,

my understanding is that Dr. Blais with all his medical expertise finds things other people can't and that makes all the difference. His lab must have special things other labs don't. It just sounds like he goes far beyond finding the normal things to help women out that have had their lives taken from silicone. Sometimes what he finds makes all the difference for sick women. It can determine why they may be sick and what they need to fix it.

Call his office is you have questions. I did. I spoke with a lady that works with him. I didn't get her name. My personality is I have to know the facts and is it worth my time? Will it make a difference? In my case I felt it would. She answered about 90% of my questions. Mostly I wanted to find out about the defective valve, which I was told that my implants had. But see you can't just say it is deffective, you have to have proof. Also, just the stories she personally told me made want to make sure my PS did what he said he did. All this reminds me of CSI. Do you ever watch that show.

My husband wants to sue. Not the PS, but mentor. Also to see what bacteria's etc are growing. My implants were clear when removed, so by the physical eye I couldn't see a darn thing, but that doesn't mean I don't have 10 different things growing in it. So, I want proof. Which I will have in a month or so.

I wanted to get all the documentation etc. so if we go to court I would have everything. Plus, I wanted to know for myself and bring closure to help me heal and get back to normal. I don't think every girl here does all this, just the ones that want to get to the source of the problem to get things resolved.

I think knowing all this helps many women heal because it answers questions as to "why" do I feel like crap all the time. Once we have answers it just puts us at ease. So, its certainly not mandatory or anything. No pressure here because everyone else does it. I just think its smart myself, and its your own personal decision. (just like anything else).

Like if you car breaks down, you want to know whats wrong with it, how much to fix it etc.

Deb,Thanks again for the info. I got confused when my PS said that the implants "go back to the manufacturer" for testing. I assumed that the manufacturer would not tell me the truth about anything. Maybe I misunderstood. I will ask more about this.PS Why send to Blais if they all tell the truth? Is the exam not as thorough? Thanks again,Ann-- In , "Debbie B." <debsings04@y...> wrote:> Ann,> > you can trust any pathologist. They document what they find in your report . They have nothing to do with your surgeon really. So whatever they find trust that. The pathologist is separate from your PS. The pathologist does not work for the PS.> > What happened with me is that my PS gave me the tissue

sample. I dropped it off at the lab at the hosp. I work at. Then the lab sent it to the pathology dept. my PS uses. My PS said it would be much cheaper this way if I sent it then him sending it. I didn't really question it, so I just did that. Then my PS office called and gave me my results after they got them, plus they faxed the report to me. I got everything in documentation.> > I sent my capsules to Dr. Blais. My PS gave them to me in a sterile bag sealed per Dr. Blais's orders. I sent them off over a wk ago. My husband called his office and from where I live it takes like 8 working days for them to get the package. Plus the testing takes a while. So, he prob. has not gotten it yet. > > Does this answer your questions?> Deb> > > Deb> > nantynannie <nantynannie@y...> wrote:> > > Deb,> > I am so glad that you are happy with your decision!
