Guest guest
I certainly dont feel that 25mcg will do you anyharm, thats a really dose, you TSH could do with being lower and your T4 higher, so I think you are doing the right thing. I recieved my HC today and took 2.5 2 hours ago, feel no different, so am going to carry on with it, did you decide not to carry on with yours? Gets a bit expensive doesnt it especially if you decide not to use it. Guest guest
***Am very tempted to try DHEA i ordered this from the internationalpharmacy, but have been to apprehensive of taking it.Has anyone on here used DHEA?Hello Simone, Not DHEA, but Keto7 .... I am Hashi and take 100 mcg L-thyroxine daily ... I currently support my adrenals half with Dr. 's Adrenal Dynamite (which for me works well), half with Keto7, because the Dynamite is soo expensive. My niece in Germany asked me to get her some Keto7 (she can't get it over there) and because she told me how well it worked for her, I bought some for myself. I have been taking it now for about 2 weeks (25 mg every morning) and it feels good. I do still take the Adrenal Dynamite too, but only once a day instead of twice. I am really experimenting, as I don't fully understand why Keto7 helps, but it does - flushes are reduced even further, and I feel "quieter inside" (does that make sense?) and I have more energy. I am hoping that eventually I can forego the Dynamite and just take the Keto7 - perhaps double the amount from 25 mg/day to 50 mg /day ?? Would that work, Sheila or anybody ? My niece told me that Keto7 is better than DHEA, because it does not convert into sex hormones (androgens) and Keto - unlike DHEA - won't cause acne and/or unwanted facial hair. love,
Guest guest
Personally I want my dhea to convert to sex hormones. I only take 5mg though, so no problems with facial hair etc. Surely we want to take things as close to what the body produces as possible and this is why I use normal dhea. I think you need to be sure that you are short of any hormone before using them. Guest guest
I absolutely agree with Val. You should NOT be treating your adrenals - and especially with steroids unless you have been diagnosed with low cortisol and/or DHEA. The best form of DHEA is plain old DHEA 25 mcgs. This is not sufficient to cause hair growth on your face. You might need to wait about 3 months before you get the full effect though. luv - Sheila Personally I want my dhea to convert to sex hormones. Guest guest
Thanks All for the responses..i have made a phone appointment with Dr Lewith to see what he says about the antibodies..initially he said clearly there is a problem but it did not warrant treatment. Guest guest
I agree, you def don't need to be fat or constipated. As a result of my adrenal problems I was losing weight and the opposite BM wise! With a TSH of 16. Guest guest
> > Hi Lyndsey, My symptoms, the symptoms I have are bouts of insomnia, feeling low and anxiety. It is difficult for me to differentiate if this is circumstantial, as i had a very stressful 2008 or if it thyroid related. My bmt temp are betwn 36.3 to 36.9 depending on where i am on in my cycle. I tend to find it difficult to identify thyroid or not as my blood results are within range with high T4. Thanks, Simone
Guest guest
> > Hi Lyndsey, I had a thyroid storm in 2003, slightly overactive was put on overactive meds and in a month had tsh of 70, i refused to take thyroxine and my body readjusted itself int 8 months with no meds to a a tsh of 2.2. Am on no meds at the moment. I had the feeling low came after that episode prior to that had not experienced the blues as i do sometimes now. I wondered what anyone thought of primrose oil, and is anyone taking it. re maca, i don't think maca is particularly good as it is from the turnip family i think and is goitrogenic i have heard of people have bad reactions to this product making them more hypo..ironically it is advertised as a product for hypothyroidism!. Warm thoughts to all, simone
Guest guest
Hi Simone, Without a FT3 we can't tell really what is going on from the numbers. If your FT3 is low then you will be symptomatic and also that would explain why the high TSH and decent FT4 is a problem, but it's how you feel that matters. Are you on any thyroid meds at the moment? Subject: Hi All - Sheila Sorry i know i keep on repeating the same question on here. But my last results tsh 3.82 range 0.3-4.2 Ft4 18.9 range 12 -22 I cannot take armour as i tried it again for one day and it made me feel sick. If i were to take levothyroxine, i am concerned as my Ft4 is already quite high on no medicaton. I do not understand how my Ft4 can be so high, you would think in theory with a high Ft4 my tsh should be much lower, could this me a lab mistake?? or are some reading like this.
