I definately recommend Dr. Pierre Blais in Canada - he does a very compete

report and helped me win my appeal with me insurance co regarding the explant

costs. He has a ton of good info - if you wopuld like, I can send you a copy of

the report he sent me so you can see what a great job he did - it was over 40

pages I think and only cost around $350. If you let the doc take care of it i

would seriously doubt what they report as I am sure they are " covering their

butts " regarding potential lawsuits. Take your iplants home and send them to

pierre ASAP! You will not be disappointed.

thanks

Ann,

I hope you got answers already, but just in case you haven't, I usually recommend women talk to Dr. Pierre Blais about the disposition of their implants after removal. He is an expert on failed medical devices, and particularly breast implants. His former position was the equivalent of a scientist and researcher with the FDA, only in Canada. He is wonderful, and so helpful.

His info is:

Pierre Blais, PhDInnoval,

496 Westminster Ave.,

Ottawa, Ontario, Canada K2A 2V1613.728-8688,

Fax: 613.728-0687

Litigation for saline implant victims is still not happening, but we hope that will be changing sometime in the future. It seems to be too big a challenge, but we remain hopeful.

Subject: Pathology

I am having my saline implants removed and the surgeon said that he will send them away to a pathologist, but I got the impression that the manufacturer will somehow be involved and I wonder if will get the truth (I think I might have fungus or something growing in there). I noticed that someone else mentioned sending to a certain doctor...any info on that? I am new to this board and missed many messages.PS Is anyone considering litigation regarding saline? It seems that many with saline are sick, but I only find info related to silicone...Thanks!Ann
