Hi Joanne, my PS told me yesterday that nasty bacteria which normally live

in/on us can sometimes lurk for months after surgery before flaring up,

seemingly out of the blue. She had some fancy Latin name for the little

suckers which my brain fog wiped out, but it's a good deal you went to the

doc straight away...septeceamia ( sp?) can get nasty, but you caught yours

in time.

For everyone here waiting for explantation, try not to have your ops during

winter or high flu season as nurses and drs get sick too and in spite of all

the precautions, the nasties do sneak under the fence, so to speak.....the

staffs ometimes don;t realise they're sick yet when in theatre.....

The rest of the gang here will no doubt give you some good treatment

protocols for the anti-bacterial and candida related issues you need to know

about..( see what happens when you hang around dr types to much ? You start

sounding just like 'em ! :)

My thoughts are with you girl, hand in there, there's lots of support right

here !

Fiona
