Guest guest
Abbe, You could just as easily get the test from Dr. Flechas' lab and you would get the free consult afterward to interpret for you as well as advise. We have a web page for info on the loading test: _www.breastcancerchoices.org/loading_ (http://www.breastcancerchoices.org/loading) Good luck! Lynne In a message dated 8/7/2006 10:48:37 A.M. Guest guest
Dear Abbe, Go to: _www.breastcancerchoices.org/loading_ (http://www.breastcancerchoices.org/loading) . All the lab contact information is there including their 800 phone number. Tell them you don't have a doctor to interpret the test and you want the consult with Dr. Flechas. Email me privately if you can't reach them or have any questions. Lynne In a message dated 8/7/2006 12:08:07 P.M. Guest guest
I am pretty sure that is the one that Zoe did. Her results are posted in the files somewhere. They offer a free consult with Dr. Flechas as part of the kit. B. Loading Test Just arriving at the point where I am thinking about doing the Iodine Loading Test, but I want to do it on my own. I am sorry if this has been discussed before and I missed it. Guest guest
well I wish I could test myself but I don't know where the $$$ is coming from these days. Soon to be winter in Maine, and I need wood and kerosene for my Monitor ( Brownstein said it took him 4 years to get enough iodine! All I can do is try to decrease and see how that goes. In the past I have felt pretty bad when I tried. I just went to a sad funeral for my friend's son who died from cystic fibrosis at age 31. At the funeral I saw another friend's son, only 34, with severe Parkinsons. I have been wondering if iodine would have any effect on these illnesses. Gracia I am just finishing up my month of dosing iodine at 100mg. I took a break while traveling. I amnot sure what another iodine loading test would accomplish because I would not now trust theresults at this point.I wonder if Flechas and Abraham know how bad these odd test results are looking to this group? The urinalysis looks very inaccurate and unreliable. If Gracia isn't brimming with iodine afterall this time when she checks... we'll know something is up. If I decide to test, I wonder how I can get it double or triple checked without it costinghundreds of dollars.__________________________________________________

Guest guest
I have to add that it has taken me two years to reach 75mg daily. And, of course, taking high Vit C intake as well as selenium, magnesium, b2, b3 and other supplements are very important. Mahin I didn't experience any symptoms the first time I did the test. The 4 Iodoral you take for the test is a one time deal and as such I don't know if it's enough to cause any major problems. After you do the test and start supplementation with Iodoral, you may experience detox in which case (like me) you'd have to start low dosage and gradually increase. I began with half of one every other day, now I'm up to 6 pills (75mg) a day. Mahin and others,Can anyone tell me what would be the worst symptoms I might expect from taking the 4 Iodoral for the 24 hour loading test? I'm a bit reluctant to dose myself this way as I've probably never taken more than 500mcg at a time. Wouldn't it be wiser to take 1 mg then 5 mg then 10 mg, then 20, etc.to see if my body handles it ok?Thanks.Rebekah See what's new at AOL.com and Make AOL Your Homepage. Guest guest
You know that entirely depends on you. Most people are fine taking the 50mg. But if you are really sensitive and want to be careful working up is not a bad idea. You just need to check with the lab you are using. You might have to abstain from taking any for 48 hours prior to the test. Guest guest
are you sure it would have taken you that long to get to 75mg? I went from zero to 50mg in 3 days. When I tried to decrease from 50mg after 3 months is when I felt just awful and nonfunctional, couldn't even walk straight. Guest guest
Evidently either your body didn't have a lot of bromide to detox, or your body detoxed without obvious side effects. I don't understand why you even tried to decreased your dosage after you already went 3 months without any side effects! I too started with 50 mg but that was short-lived due to major mouth and tongue sores and some pimples. And I'm one of many Amazons (the breast cancer support group) who experienced major detox to begin with and beyond. I stopped and started taking Iodoral many times while at the same time I was trying to gradually increase dosage. In fact, it was after I learned about and began taking Celtic sea salt (dissolved in water) with Iodoral that I stopped having detox side effects altogether. That was almost 7 months ago at which time I began taking 50mg again and last month increased it to 75mg. Mahin are you sure it would have taken you that long to get to 75mg? Guest guest
hi I guess I thought I was supposed to go to maintenance dose of 12.5mg after 3 months! Now I am happy taking 50mg per day.
