Guest guest
Does anyone have any information on how much, if any, iodine is contained in various fish oil capsules? I have an iodine sensitivity ever since a May 2004 thyroidectomy, so I have to be very careful of iodine in foods. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Nick
Guest guest
Every time I have fish, or other excess iodine, I get heart arrhythmia later that day. I've had this happen many times, so I know it's the iodine. It's probably interfering with the thyroid meds I take. Excess iodine can cause arrhythmias. =============================================== I have that with fish as well but it is not iodine. I am sensitive to the protein in the fish. I take 50 mg Iodoral w/o any problems. I had a TT in April 2000 for ThyCa. I wonder if that is your issue. Many Dr's will tell you it is the iodine but they are finding it isn't. What else bugs you? Guest guest
When you say you're sensitive to the protein in the fish, do you also get heart arrhythmia? I tried kelp drops for 3 or 4 days about a year ago, and I had heart arrhythmia like you wouldn't believe. Nick

I haven't had any in literally 20 years so I couldn't tell you what it is like anymore. I remember feeling like I couldn't breath.
