Guest guest
I am already being treated successfully on armour despite TFT ranges showing as mid range, thanks to Dr Skinner. My son who is 27 yrs old is extremely lethargic, etc and has just had a TFT done after me nagging him. His readings are T4 - 16 and TSH 5.6. He said the upper limit for TSH was 6! I find this amazing. Of course they have decided not to treat him because he falls within the range and told him he is normal even though he has a high reading of antibodies which concerned them (he didn't know exact reading). The have told him to come back in 6 months and for him to see how it goes! They also told him they weren't sure how to interpret the results as they didn't understand antibodies. I think this must have been the receptionist. Do you think he should be treated. I am not sure how antibodies work and is this enough to diagnose him as hypo even though his TFT readings fall within the range? We have BUPA so wonder if it would be advisable for him to see a sympathetic endo. Do you know of one within easy reach of Ambleside, Lake District (LA22 9BS).If not we will arrange for him to see Dr P. Thanks, (anxious Mom 250 miles away).
