Guest guest
Can you help please? I got my Armour from the chemist this evening and I've chopped the (2 grain) tabs into 8 (1/4 grain)pieces. Shall I take my first bit of Armour tonight or wait till tomorrow? I will say I have to go to work tomorrow, I'm only doing some designing on the computer though, not dealing with visitors!! I'm a bit panicky 'cos I don't know how it will affect me! I haven't taken any Levothyroxine since last Monday, (21st)as I ran out and didn't want to get stuck with two months supply.
Guest guest
Unless you are particularly sensitive to medication, we usually recommend you start using half a grain. Start this tomorrow and you get more benefit by taking it sublingually, as it gets directly into the blood and by-passes the stomach, where it can lose up to 45% of its potency through the stomach acids. With thyroxine, you need the stomach acids, but not with Armour. Stay on half a grain (or wuarter of a grain if you need that) for 7 days, before adding another half grain and staying on that for four weeks. Details in our Files good luck - don't be scared, this is a wonderful medication - this could be the first day of your life. Luv - heila Can you help please? Guest guest
Thanks Sheila, I have downloaded the 'How to take Armour' already. I'm not particularly sensetive to medication unless there is Maize starch in it so I think I will be OK there. Is it worth taking the 1/4 tablet in the morning and taking the other quarter in the afternoon? I've read on the board that some people split their dose, or does this only come into play when you are at your optimum dose? Thanks again, still a bit apprehensive, but feeling the fear and doing it anyway!!LOL!!! > Unless you are particularly sensitive to medication, we usually recommend you start using half a grain. Guest guest
It is always best to split your Armour into two doses Glynis. The T3 has a short half life and leaves your body after 6 to 8 hours, so if you take it before breakfast, you could have a 'slump' and want to fall asleep around 2.00p.m. Good luck - have a ball!
