So does this mean that the friendly " hellos " to others here on this board will also end? Sometimes this board has been used for things OTHER than announcements and events--such as friendships and support. mak

Can this board be kept for announcements and events in PNW? If I'm wrong, then the Home page needs to be updated with a mission statement that allows for any discussion of anything having to do with bands & doctors & fills in PNW. I truly value this kind of dicussion, but on other boards, where it belongs. SmartBandsters or or something like that. a

He told me in the hospital that I would need 1 or 2 fills and that would be it. The Mexican gal told me the same thing when she answered some questions before surgery. I have went back for 3 and that is all the money I have for this. They all new that. the last time he laughed at me and said I was cheating or I should be 50# less by now. Follow rules, he said and left. so here I am not losing a thing in 6 months. I do not wasnt to go back to this guy at all. Can anyone help me. the
Guest guest
From what I know (I'm 2 years post op btw) for most bandsters it takes a minimum of 3 fills to reach a good restriction level. Then as you lose weight the fat between the band and your stomach shrinks making it necessary for more fills each time this fat shrinks to maintain a good restriction level otherwise weight loss will stall because it is eary to eat more. I suggest finding a local band doctor or NP who will take you on for fills. @...: cacoast99@...: Mon, 13 Oct 2008 03:45:17 +0000Subject: disgusted I am new here. Guest guest
Hi - did part of your message get cut off? looks as if it did.. Most people need 3-5 or more fills just in the first year, and sometimes even a few more. Only the very rare person needs only 1-2 - and we must plan the expense and time for the average number. the band just doesn;t work well without a good fill. I don't think it is fair if we're told otherwise, and base our decision to be banded on poor info. I'd like to know what doc this is, if you'd tell me privately by email. I suspect I know, as he likes the " cheating " phrase. No need to say who here. If you'll let us know where you live,we can help you find a more compassionate fill person. but ou really do need at least a few more fills. I'm sure we can help you get back on track. We;re all here for you. Sandy r > > I am new here. I am a patient of a mexican surgeon and have been > basically abandoned. Guest guest
what doc did you go to? That was very rude of him to do and say that. how long have you been banded? Is there not any body in the states to give you fills. U've been banded for 2.5 mo since july 18 and have had 2 fills. I was told you really dont get good restriction gill you've had 3 or 4 fills. After you get to good restriction than you only need a fill once every year and you need to check your band under fluro 1 time a yr. hope this helps you out. hang in there you'll make it to your sweet spot and loose the weight you want. I've lost 40 lbs since being banded. disgusted I am new here. I am a patient of a mexican surgeon and have been basically abandoned.
